We have a LG 42LB5DF 42" 1080p. When we turn on the TV 1st thing in the day the screen has horizontal white lines and is somewhat distorted. We are connected to the TV from a Direct TV HD+DVR box via HDMI. Trying to troubleshoot, I have tried to connect an HD antenna for local channels in HD and get the same problem. I have also tried other HDMI cables and the other HDMU slots on the TV. I do not think it is the cable box since it does same thing either way. What we are doing is turning on and off the TV several times and the problem eventually clears itself.
I got my main board replaced under warranty and this fixed the problem.
I have the same problem on my 42 inch LG 1080p and I read in the manual this could be due to interference. I have messed around with my other electronics but couldnt find the problem. I do live in a apartment so I dont know if maybe another persons electronics are causeing it or not. I will be contacting LG regarding this issue although it wont get me anywhere im sure, but I will post again If I should find a soulution.
