My bios is corrupted how can i solve the problem

You can remove the battery to clear the BIOS - read the information from this link.

Although the link is about removing the password, the same things need to be done to reset BIOS to factory default.

My pc doesn't want to boot up. this happend after i updated my bios. what might be the priblem & what's the solution?

> this happened after I updated [the] BIOS

After the 'flashing', did you enter BIOS SETUP, and then use 'Load BIOS Defaults' ?

After that, did you use 'AUTO DETECT DISK DRIVES' ?
If so, were your disk-drive and your CD-drive detected properly?

Hopefully, you updated with the correct BIOS that is specific to exactly your motherboard.

Some motherboards have the capability to 'flash' the BIOS even when a recent BIOS-update did not fully complete -- check the manual that came with the motherboard for the exact key-sequence to activate this 'emergency' BIOS-update.

If you can remove the BIOS chip from the motherboard, and you have your own EEPROM 'writer', you can update the chip while it's mounted on this EEPROM 'writer', and then re-install the BIOS chip onto the motherboard.

How do I find which bios update to install - (find which motherboard) without opening the pc?

You just need to go to the BIOS page itself and look for the BIOS version. The version that you need relies on the BIOS chip and not on the Motherboard itself. As you know, Different motherboards may have the same BIOS. The BIOS version is usually located on the summary page either on top or at the bottom of the page.

Cannot open bios set up forgot bios password

Reset the motherboard BIOS. To do this:
1. Open your computer casing where the motherboard lies in.
2. Look for the BIOS jumper settings. It should be near the battery.
3. And there reset the bios settings. (To do this, refer to your motherboard manual.)
4. Once already done. Close the casing and power up your computer.
See how it works.:-)

I need a bios upgrade. I have a PT800DBP Motherboard Motherboard: CPU Type Intel Pentium 4A, 2833 MHz (7 x 405) Motherboard Name Unknown Motherboard Chipset VIA VT8763 Apollo PT800 System Memory 512 MB...

boot the pc from cold, note the long identifier number - it contains a 2 character identifier for the board manufacturer. For more info go to the Award bios website, it has a better explanation of this. From there you will be able to either download new BIOS from there, or the website of the vendor/manufacturer.
