If Word and Powerpoint are installed on your computer and you mean you don't have icons for them on the desktop, click on Start, then All Programs, and you will find them in the program list. You can start them from there, or you can right-click on the program and pick "send to.." from the menu that pops up. Select "desktop (create shortcut)" and you will have the icon on the desktop for future use.

If Word and Powerpoint are not in the program list, they aren't installed. These programs do not come with Windows. Unless you paid extra for them when you purchased the computer, you will need to purchase the Office suite and install the programs yourself.

I want a legal product key for windows xp professional sp2 so I can register it with microsoft

Hello. If your computer has a windows XP Pro sticker on it you may be able to call Microsoft and validate your operating system if it is ligitamate, or buy an operating system disk on ebay for your brand of computer. Any Dell XP Pro disk will work with a Dell computer having a Dell XP Pro sticker, and so on for other brands, as long as your sticker has your computer brand on it. If you have a sticker without a brand name or no sticker at all you'll probably have to buy a retail disk.

These directions may be helpfull.
