I bought a second hand Proform 14.0 CE elliptical. The incline is stuck at about 20 degrees. The incline ramp moves slightly while trying to calibrate but remains about 20 degrees. The display shows that the incline ramp is 10 degrees. How do I fix this?

FOLLOW this steps and fix it. God bless you
Clean the heart rate monitoring pads if the console is not displaying your heart rate when you grip the pads. Use a damp cloth and a mild soap to clean the pads. Do not use alcohol or any other abrasive cleaners that may damage the equipment.

    • 2
Calibrate the ramp if the elliptical is not functioning properly. Press and hold the "Target Toning Workouts" button on the console until the calibration mode appears on the display. Press the "Target Toning Workouts" button once. The elliptical will display additional directions. Use the "One Step Power Ramp" increase and decrease buttons to raise and lower the ramp.

    • 3
Adjust the reed switch by removing the access cover, which sits over the wheel of the elliptical at the back of the machine. The access cover can be removed with a flat-head screwdriver. Unplug the machine. The reed switch provides information to the console for display. Rotate the pulley until the pulley magnet, which is under the belt, lines up with the reed switch. The reed switch has a wire running into it. Loosen the screw to the reed switch and adjust the distance closer or farther from the pulley magnet. Tighten the screw. Plug in the machine and rotate the pulley. If the console still is not displaying correctly, repeat adjusting the reed switch distance either closer or father from the pulley magnet.
    • 4
Adjust the drive belt if the pedals slip while in use. Unplug the elliptical. Lift the latch on the underside of the left pedal arm and slip it off. Use a screwdriver to remove the arm sleeve and pry open the disc panel. Loosen the pivot screw located on the left side. The belt tighten screw is below the pivot screw. Tighten the belt tightening screw until the belt is tight. Tighten the pivot screw. Replace the disc and arm to the elliptical

SOURCE: proform 360p stuck on incline

I had the exact same problem.

This usually happens if you switch it off at the mains while the incline is adjusting or is somewhere other than lowest. You should always make sure before finishing off, to lower everything.

Now for the solution: If you open up the case it has 5 or 6 black philips (cross head) screws (use your user manual if you don't have your original go to proform and find the support link and download the .PDF if your model is not available get the one before or after in the same model product line (model number is below the power input)).

Make sure you remove the power before opening the cover, obviously.

Anyway, once opened, you should find a sheet of paper wrapped around in some plastic wallet. On that paper it should explain everything. Try not to mess with too much things in the settings, otherwise you might mess it up badly.

Mine is something like: Hold the speed up (+) button and then while holding the button insert the key - that will get you to the service menu (obviously the power has to be connected).

Once in the menu pressing the incline up does a self-calibration (maximum up and maximum down) after that it should be perfect.

Remove the key any time to come out of that mode and resume normal operation.

I may not find this place for any more replies 'cos i only found this site by accident. While looking for info. on my burnt out motor model: PETL 3013.6 .... But i have come across someone selling a faulty one on ebay for like 5 quids... it's picking it up the trouble!

Under the motor shroud their is a instruction mini manual it will have a how to calibrate the incline motor, if that does not fix it then you may have to manually adjust the incline motor and sometimes it will take awhile to realign . If that does not work replacing the motor maybe the only option

SOURCE: Nordictrack Elliptical ramp motor only goes up

Dear Sir:
Some different things. 1)Not signal from the console 2) damaged cable or tight 3)the console itself has failed 4) motor control board failed by worn deck 5) the motor may in short. 6) potentiometer geared adjust and lubricate.7) fail or the gearing can slip, giving the console false information
8) Adjust the speed sensor see the diagram attached..9) RUN again the calibration software under the Hood of the motor for easy diagnose and troubleshooting. Any way attached my own block diagram for easy diagnose.
sincerely. God bless you.

Hi i have a e7 code on my lifespan fit e3i elliptical help please

For E6 and E7 codes, while this code is displayed:

First, press and hold Level Minus, then the Start key (the Level Minus key first), for 2 seconds. (make sure you press Level Down a little before Start.) The console should beep twice; the display does not change.

If the potentiometer value on the left of the screen is higher than 240, press and hold the Ramp minus key to lower the ramp until the value is in a range between 48 and 240. Then release the button. May reset by itself now. Or, turn the elliptical off and back on to reset. If ramp goes up to 255 and won't move in any mode, unplug power for 20 minutes.

If the potentiometer value is lower than 48, press and hold the Ramp plus button to raise the incline until the value is in a range between 48 and 240. Then release the button. May reset by itself now. Or, turn the elliptical off and back on to reset.

Now press Start, and pedal for 30 seconds. The ramp should reset to zero, the lowest level.

Precor 5.17i lift wobbly

INcline it all the way up and look underneath the ramp. Check where the ramp attaches to the main frame. If there are cracks in the bottom of the ramp, you need a new ramp, especially if you have a steel ramp as opposed to alumunum.

E3 error on sole E95 elliptical

The E95 incline motor is out of calibration. Recalibrate the incline by holding the UP INCLINE button and the START button simultaneously for 5 seconds. This will put the machine into incline calibration mode. Press ENTER to start the calibration and let it run. It will take a minute or two.

Refer to page 25 (the last page) of the user manual, hidden right at the bottom.

ProForm 675 elliptical is very hard to peddle

use the next steps:
Step 1

Use your flathead screwdriver to pry off the plate on the left side of the elliptical trainer.
Step 2

Look for the magnet and reed switch. These elements will be roughly the same size, and the reed switch should have a series of wires connected to it.
Step 3

Loosen the screw in the reed switch using your screwdriver. Move the reed switch by hand until it sits 1/8 inch from the magnet, then re-tighten the screw.
Step 4

Test the unit to see if the display and heart rate monitor are working properly. If not, move the reed switch slightly so it is closer or farther from the magnet, then try the machine again. Once you've found the correct location for the switch, tighten the screw to hold the reed switch in place.
Step 5

Replace the cover plate by snapping it into position by hand

Proform 740CS runs okay but the incline does not

ProForm Treadmills have a reset procedure for the incline function. With the key inserted in the console, activate the incline; while the incline is changing, remove the key. Wait 30 seconds, then replace the key. The incline should to maximum, then to minimum, resetting its limits. It worked for mine just 10 minutes ago; the procedure is in the manual if you have it. Good luck!

I have an efx 546i and when I try to use the incline the panel states: No ramp, low battery

The ramp system has a battery monitoring system. If the battery voltage falls below 11 Vdc when the ramp movement is initiated or the battery voltage falls below 10 Vdc after ramp movement has been initiated, ramp movement will be stopped and gives that error message. The ramp will not be enabled until such time as the battery voltage exceeds the above limits. The battery voltage must be raised to be to correct this problem either by charging or replacing the battery.

Gear locks when i park on even a slight incline

ALWAYS engage the Parking Brake BEFORE putting car into "Park". When you want to get out of "Park", put your foot on the brake pedal, move gear shifter into desired gear, THEN take down Parking Brake. If you get stuck (gear shifter doesn't move), then try the "rocking" method (recruit 1 or 2 folks to push your car from behind while you try to move gear shifter into desired gear). Good luck!
