First can it pick up water if so you put take the hose on suction and wrapp a rag around the end so you get full suction in the drain and turn it on.if not hook the hose up so it blows instead of sucks,do the same thing with a rag around the end of the hose and seal the hose in the drain, then turn it on.if you have a shop vac that will work better

I cant figure out how to **** up water with my kirby dimond

Vacuuming a wet carpet with your Kirby or any other vacuum not designed for wet pickup could do serious damage to your machine and there is a real danger of electrical shock to the operator.
Your Kirby Diamond and every other Kirby for that matter is NOT designed to pick up water!! Even with the shampoo system attached it will NOT pick up water or the shampoo foam. Your Kirby spreads the shampoo foam around on the carpet to clean it. You then only vacuum a shampooed carpet after it has completely dried.

Unblocking sinks

Remove the brushead and attach the adapter (round cup-looking device with a screen or grille on the front).Attach the hose to the blower (bag) side of the machine. In your attachment caddy, there should be a round rubber attachment with rubber teeth around the outer edge.Should be called the pet grooming tool.Grap the attachment and flip the teeth edge back as if you are trying to turn it inside out. It's now ready to use.If you are trying to unclog a dual (kitchen) sink, make sure the other side has the stopper firmly in place so that there is a seal for the entire drain system

Unclogging drains?

Hi!
You need to take the power nozzle off and attach the thing that looks like a little plastic cup with two hooks on it. This is the intake guard. Attach it to the front. Now remove the cloth bag and put the hose on the hole where the bag was. You'll have to line the arrow on the hose up with the notch on the Kirby and push the hose arm toward the Kirby until it pops on. If you need to, lube up the edges of the hole with a wee bit of vaseline or hand lotion. This makes the hose engage easier. Now, turn your massage cup (in your basic set of attachments inside out and hold it on the drain hole. If there is an overflow hole in the sink, you may want to cover it so that you won't be splattered with gunk. lol Now, turn the Kirby on and it will attempt to blow the clog on through the pipe. Sometimes it works...sometimes it doesn't. :0) Hope this helps...

Don’t have a manual for my Kirby - trying to turn on the blower to unclog a drain but can't figure out how.

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. The best way to get a Kirby owner’s manual is to call the Kirby Factory and they should have older copies or @ least they can photocopy an older owner’s manual for you @ the address that I will provide for you. I believe that there is a special cuff with a hose attached in order to do the unclog of the drain. I personally have not seen this done but I know the exhaust / blower port on the Kirby serves as a blower. You may look for that hose cuff for that feature. Or , check with your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

Kirby G5 Bagged Upright Vacuum
I need to know how to use the attachments that came with the Kirby. I know how to use the shampoo/vacuum, but not the other attachments or the upholstery cleaner. Does anyone have any idea?

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.
1st, you need to un-hook the lever @ the top of the Kirby head, dial off the belt from the Kirby Vacuum Head using the Kirby emblem in the front of the vacuum, that also serves as a hook/spoon to dial the belt off the fan pulley. Once you have removed the vacuum head you now hook up the attachment hose to use the attachments by locking the attachment hose to the top lever. All regular Kirby attachment will fix on the attachment hose end including the spin brush if you have one with your Kirby --- using the Kirby Shampoo spray the soiled area and use the spin brush to agitate the carpet and or upholstery, try not to use to much water. If you have a Kirby shampooer – use the recovery tank on the exhaust port of the Kirby (this means that the cloth/paper bag needs to come off and install the clear recovery tank. Please refer to the Kirby owners manual for any type of trouble shooting that you might need – or please feel free to contact your local vacuum dealer in the yellow pages or contact your Kirby factory manufacturer listed below:

Are there hand tools you can use with Kirby shampooer?

I love my Kirby and shampooer, but I am wondering if there are any ways to clean stains in small/tight spaces (in corners, between furniture, etc)... my old carpet shampooer had a "hand tool" attachment with spinning brushes, but I don't see anything similar for Kirby... I imagine I could put a tiny bit of solution down and use the zip brush, but I'm wondering if anyone has a better idea...?

I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.
I believe that Kirby does make a spinning brush and If I remember it is a round brush that spins and probably will not get into square corners – suggest using a scrub brush with the Kirby Shampoo for corners and steps for areas that you cannot get into – use an old spray bottle to wet down the area that you are cleaning and use the scrub brush and if you do find the Kirby spinning brush that will do the large areas.
