Ge 900 MHz cordless phone set on rotary dialing

Hi, I have a black color Ge 900MHz cordless phone. We had to get a new battery in it. I can't find my instructions to get the phone set up for rotary dialing. I have tried pushing all the buttons on the phone and I can't get anything to work. Can you help me get it on the pulse rotary dialing tone. Thank You! Lisa

Lisa, If the 900MHZ phone is Model 26928M programming for rotary dial usually goes like below, can't hurt to try on any model. TONE/PULSE DIALING This adjustment allows you to select tone (touch-tone) or pulse (rotary) mode dialing. The phone is pre-set for touch-tone use. To set to tone or pulse dialing: 1. Press and hold the program button for two seconds. You will hear a beep. 2. Press the *tone button to select Tone Dialing or press #pause to select Pulse Dialing. 3. Press the program button again. You will hear a confirmation tone.

SOURCE: No dial tone on handset

It may not be registed with the main unit. You may need to register the handset. With my uniden all i have to do is put it in the main base until it says what handset it is (it should be a number).

If you have any questions please dont hesitate to ask

SOURCE: just bought phone no dial tone i move the setting to pulse

First thing to try is another phone in the wall jack if it doesn't work either you need to call your phone company. If the other phone works, make sure that the telephone is getting power from the AC electrical outlet. Try swapping the telephone cord with another cord. and lastly, unplug the battery from teh handset and plug it back in untill you feel it click into place. Sometimes the new battery connections are pretty tight and may not really be connected even though it looks like it is plugged all the way in.

Unable to dial out

This is wild, tomorrow's post today. Check the phone to see if it is in pluse or tone. Try changing that. Is this a cordless phone or a cell phone? If you changed a cordless phone batterie chech to make sure the new batterie plug is the same color as the old one. Some are black and some are white and the polarity is opposite.

GE cordless model 26928GE2-A

Dial tone is OK, but can't dial out
• Make sure the tone/pulse setting is programmed
correctly.
TONE/PULSE DIALING
1. Make sure the phone is OFF (not in TALK mode).
2. Use the CID/VOL left (-) or right (+) arrow button to
scroll to 1TONE or 2PULSE, or use the touch tone
pad on the handset to enter the desired setting. For
example, to choose TONE dialing, press the number 1
key. 1TONE is the default setting.
3. Press flash/program to store selection. You will hear a
confirmation tone.

2003 Phone- no dial tone GE CORDLESS 900MHz

I am having the same problem with general electric model 27939ge3-a . I am very displeased with the GE website(s) as it is difficult to manuveur around to find any user manuals.

Next time I purchase a phone, I will check the manufacturer's help support first.

As to a solution. I may try purchasing a new battery. Perhaps it is a power issue
