A completely white screen with white vertical lines on your Mitsubishi WD 77731 TV can be an indication of several possible issues. Here are some potential causes:
Faulty T-Con board: The T-Con board is responsible for processing the image signal and distributing it to the screen. If the T-Con board is faulty, it can cause the white screen and vertical lines issue.
Loose or damaged cable connections: Loose or damaged cable connections can interfere with the transmission of the image signal, causing the white screen and vertical lines issue.
Failed backlight: The backlight of the TV illuminates the screen from behind. If the backlight has failed, it can cause the screen to appear white.
Damaged LCD panel: The LCD panel is the display screen of the TV. If the panel is damaged, it can cause the white screen and vertical lines issue.
To troubleshoot the issue, you can try the following steps:
Check the cable connections: Make sure that all cables connecting the TV to the source device (such as a cable box or gaming console) are properly connected and undamaged.
Power cycle the TV: Turn off the TV and unplug it from the power source. Wait for a few minutes, then plug it back in and turn it on.
Check the T-Con board: If the T-Con board is faulty, it may need to be replaced. You can check for any visible signs of damage or contact a professional to diagnose and replace the board if needed.
Check the backlight: If the backlight has failed, it may need to be replaced. You can shine a flashlight on the screen to see if there is any image visible, which would indicate a failed backlight.
Contact a professional: If none of the above steps resolves the issue, you may need to contact a professional for further diagnosis and repair.
Disconnect from power first!! Undo the three screws. Tap the base of the handle assembly from the front and it will slide back so it can be removed With the handle removed, pivot up the bottom of the electrical box cover and it will unclip at the top edge.
Check your lower and upper wand connects for pinkish or blackened evidence of burning. All connections should be shiny clean brass. Polish with wet dry # 600 paper or a scotch abrasive dish pad.
If the junior runs, with its tighter, cleaner less used connections it is very likely the wand connections and mating component, either the hose handle or power head elbow are also burned or badly worn. On a Kenmore, due to the weight of the head and mediocre design they wear in pairs and should be replaced in pairs. You can get some electrical parts thru a Whirlpool FSP parts center or a Panasonic dealer if you take in the matching pieces for clarification
Once you have taken the handle off and the front plastic cover below the handle at the front and above the bag/bucket holder, you gain access into the power cable and switch connections.
One wire will disconnect easily, the other won't, so instead of trying take this wire out of its connection where many others are from the switch and the motor, cut it on the mains lead before it enters the connection and reconnect the new mains lead wire with a **** or block connector, the other should connect normally with a spade connecter, making sure its will take the amperage of the v/cleaner
Hope this makes sense!
A regular person with patience can however it is tricky. Kenmore hoses have an arrow at the cuff where the corrugated hose meets the swivel elbow at the machine, and at the cuff where the handle meets the hose. If your parts fit in the handle, the cuff needs to be squeezed slightly out of round at the arrows to allow the handle to be popped out, usually by using a vice and applying a sharp blow by hand to the underside of the hand grip. If your problem is in the lower sleeve area where dirt gets into the contacts at the machine end, there is a 1" clip with bayonets on either side. It must be compressed at the bayonets to allow the sleeve to slide off. The internal contact rings should be cleaned and polished with W/D sand paper #600 and then lubed with vaseline. Contact fingers should be spread to apply more pressure on the internal rings before reassembling in opposite order. When in doubt Panasonic and Kenmore warranty centers will be familiar with these.
