Maytag dishwasher filter keeps clogging

My dishwasher spray arms were clogged with calcium buildup so I cleaned one and replaced the other. I also removed the fixed disc-shaped device underneath the lower spray arm and found the particle filter was clogged- so I cleaned it out. The dishwasher ran fine for a few times but then the filter clogged again, and again, and again. Now I need to make a routine of disassembling the parts to get at the filter every week because the filter no longer clears itself during the wash and/or emptying cycles. Any comments or suggestion greatly appreciated. Thanks

What is wrong when spray arms willnot spray

The spray jets are clogged. The Maytag washer recirculates the cleaning water so if the filter lets debris through that is too big to go through the jet, it gets clogged. It happened to me. Get a good light and some tweezers and pull the offending material out of the jets orfice.

My Maytag dishwasher (MDB955AWS) will not drain ans is not cleaning the dishes properly.

Hi

If you are noticing that the dishes are not clean, then there are a few things to check for. Check the soap powder if it's kept in a dry environment. Also try replacing the powder with something like a gel or liquid. Next thing to check for is the water pressure and fill valve. Check if the water is filling in and the spray arms are throwing the water with enough pressure. Try and listen to the sound if you hear a proper spraying action sound. If it seems as a low water pressure then check the fill valve.

Now, check if dishwasher is draining the water or not. While the dishwasher is working check whether the dishwasher is draining and there is not much left out water after the cycle is complete.
Dishwasher not draining issue usually occurs due to kinked drain pipe, clogged drain filter or drain pump. Check the drain hose for any visible clogging, remove if present. If no visible lint is present then remove then turn off the dishwasher and remove the drain hose and check for any visible clogging. If still not visible then the drain filter or drain pump is clogged and you'll need to clean the drain filter and drain pump.

The water temperature plays a major role in cleaning of dishes. The temp should be between 125 and 150 F for dishwasher to clean the dishes. Hope this helps... Please post back for any further assistance.

I have a portable GE Dishwasher that seems to be not doing its job like it used to, the dishes are not coming out very clean, What should be looking for?

You probably have a clogged filter. It's usually located in the sump area under the lower spray arm.
I cleaned mine (9 yr old Maytag) and it works like new. Debris like paper from labels, and sandy looking debris (I think coffee grounds) clogged my filter. Good luck!

There is excessive calcium (hard water) build up on the spray arms and it is clogging the arms. I have tried Jet Dry and it doesn't help. How can I get it clean?

You can clean this with a product called Lemi Shine. Find it at your local grocery store. It works amazingly well at removing buildup and keeping your dishes and glassware sparkling clean.

How to remove upper spray arm of Maytag DWU 9200 BBE dishwasher

There is a plastic clip that holds the spray arm to the inlet line. This clip is in the center and has to be sqeazed together to release the arm.

Both upper and lower spray arms become clogged by different objects like paper, plastic, stems from fruits, etc... These are particles that cannot br dissolved be the detergents.
