Thanks, Dennis, this helps a lot. I don't see a replacement part for the hinge specifically, but at least now I have a better understanding of the assembly.

My Frigidaire PLMV169DC (3 yrs old) had a loose bottom hinge for about a year and now the entire hinge assembly just broke loose causing the door to sag severely. From the schematics, I could not figure out how the hinge is attached to the cabinet.

Mmi have a ge advantiun x20 model SCA1001FSS01 THE HNDLE IS BROKEN OFF HOW DO i REPLACE THIS [email protected]

HELLO.

THE SOLUTION ON HOW TO REPLACE THE BROKEN HANDLE

THINGS NEEDED.

Phillips screwdriver.
Thin, flat-head screwdriver.
Putty knife.
Replacement microwave door handle.

1 Examine the inside of the door. The handles of some early GE Spacemaker microwave models were attached after the two inner door panels were assembled to the outer door. If you see two recessed screws opposite the handle attaching points, undo them with a Phillips screwdriver and remove the handle. If not, go to the next step.

2 Insert the blade of a thin, flat-head screwdriver into the top, outer corner of the door, between the plastic inner frame and the outer door. Gently pry the inner frame out and slip a putty knife into the exposed opening on top of the door. Slide the putty knife toward the hinges to free the top of the inner frame; repeat on the front and bottom edges of the door and lift the inner frame out to expose a second metal inner frame.

3 Insert a thin, flat-head screwdriver into each of the small square openings on the top and bottom of the inner metal frame, starting at the handle end of the door. Undo the attaching clips by gently levering the inner door away, using the rim of the outer door as a fulcrum. Move the inner door away from the outer door on its hinges.

4 Remove the glass from the outer door. Undo the two screws holding the handle to the outer door with a Phillips screwdriver. Screw the replacement handle onto the door and tighten securely.

5 Replace the glass panel and reassemble the door by snapping the two inner frames back in place.

Thanks.

Microwave door sags

I had the same problem. An easy fix is to remove the door by opening the door, take a screwdriver and pop the plastic retainer piece from just below top hinge on the door. Now lift the door gently and it will come off in your hands. Set aside and be careful not to let the loss bracket that passes into the microwave body fall back into the cabinet. I would suggest you use a small vice grip locked onto that bracket to keep from lossing it inside. You will see two holes, one near the top and bottom through the cabinet into the hinge. line these holes up with the hinge holes behind them and use a pop rivet gun and 3/16" rivets to lock into place. Then replace the door and retainer piece. If you only have 1/8" rivets you can hold the bracket lined up with the original holes and drill 1/8" holes of your own a little distance away from the original holes and then pop rivet through these holes.

Dacor microwave model DCM24s broken door latches

Many times restaurant supply houses can have what you are looking for in terms of hinges. However, when the hinges, seals, megatron tubes go....generally its time to go shopping for a new unit!

Frigidaire gallery microwave door sags

Repairing the loose, detached hinge is simple.
First buy a pop rivet tool and 1/8'' or 3mm rivets for about $16 at lowes
Second remove the door. There is a little plastic pop tab on the inside top corner of the door by the hinge that keeps the door from lifting off of the hinge pins. Use a 1 inch putty knife or maybe a butter knife and pry from the bottom crack. Once tab is off the entire door can be lifted off.
Third, line up the little holes in the bracket with the little holes in the microwave face. Insert a pop rivet in the hole and squeeze the tool till it pops off. I put one 3mm rivet on the top hinge and one on the bottom.
No drilling needed on my Fridgidaire PLMV169DCd microwave. I guess u could drill a 1/8'' hole thru the microwave face and the hinge bracket if there isn't one on your model.

Microwave handle replacement

How to replace handle on GE Advantium SCA1001DSS.

Remove two screws on top at front in order to remove plastic front vent grill. Then the door lifts off pin hinges. Lay door flat on surface. Plastic trim snaps off with gentle prying (start at bottom middle and bottom hinge side). Then remove six screws holding notched metal section with door latch. This piece will also snap out (several visible clips holding it around edges). Then remove door handle screws, Replace handle and reverse process to put back together.

Loose microwave door

My over the range microwave had a loose door, it sagged when it was open but you could lift it to close. Called repair person he said no it could not be fixed. You could see the bottom hinge was loose and slipping. I loosened 3 screws that holds the bottom on the microwave -you have to do this to change the light bulb also. The bottom hinge on the door was loose there was a hole there, so took a screw and nut to hold the hinge in place..I am a 70+year old woman-if I can you can.
