I have a Samsung side-by-side refrigerator that is not staying cold. To bring the temperature down I have to unplug my unit for 10 minutes and then plug back in a push the power cool button. But after a few hours it goes back up to 65 degrees.
Look for signs of frost build up on back freezer panel. If there is build up then it has a defrost problem. I haven't had much experience with samsung but I beleive it has a fuse in the defrost circuit on the evaporator and that may be the defrost problem.
I had the same problem on the same model and the problem was fixed when the repairman replaced both defrost sensors. he said the ellow tabbed one from samsung was faulty and samsung was issuing out the blck tabbed ones. hope this helps
Take everything out of the fridge, unscrew the back panel inside and reveal the cooling grid. If there is frost there, you need to replace the fuse quick before it damages the mother board, freezes your water line, freezes your water reservoir (plastic which will then crack and leak). But you're already seeing high temps, so you're with me - not under warranty and not cooling.

My Samsung refrigerator model number is RS257BARB.
Refrigerator cycles between 38 and 61 degrees. This is a known issue with these refrigerators, the part should be recalled/replaced before the issue causes all of us to lose hundreds of dollars worth of food. The tech said that the defrost mechanism is broken. That helps a lot.
