SOURCE: Sony Vaio VGN-NR498E recovery disk

Hello

Well, the recovery disks won't allow you to go to your present system. The recovery disks are designed to put everything back the way it was when you bought the computer, minus all your applications and data. If it's your data that you need then a reputable repair service like mine can slave your hard drive to another system and recover all your data (not applications), provided the hard drive has not electronically or mechanically malfunctioned. Again, a reputable repair person can tell you the status of the hard drive.

Thanks

The laptop does not restart... deleted a file by error and do not have recovery disk sony vaio vgn-fs500

    Hi,

The VAIO model is shipped with recovery partition called VAIO Recovery Wizard, You can use the same to get back the factory installed settings in the computer.

Please restart the computer and press and hold the F10 key to access the Recovery Wizard, if you have not changed preinstalled OS, you must be able to access the Recovery partition. Once you access the partition, please select "Restore C Drive" to perform a system recovery to set the computer back to factory settings. This will erase all the data saved in the hard drive of the computer.

You can also purchase the recovery discs for the computer by contact the Sony parts center at:
    Priority Service: 1-239-768-7691
    Toll Free Service: 1-800-488-SONY (7669)
    Phone Hours:

I have a sony vaio model number vgn nr21j. I cant restore it back to factory settings, i have tried everything can anyone help !!!!!!!!

If you're lucky there will be a recovery partition, you can access it in the boot menu so try hitting the F keys when it boots up, may be ESC, F1, F8, F10 etc, try each. (most common for Vaio's is the F8 key)
Once in the boot menu look for recovery, if its not there then you dont have it and will need the disks. If you dont have the disks then you'll need an operating system disk or a technician to rebuild it for you like us friendly chaps at MCSLondon.co.uk :)

My speakers on my sony vaio vgn ns140e were working fine 3 days ago and no there is no sound, all the drivers are up to date, i tryed reinstalling drivers as well, then updateing them again a thousand...

Do a system restore back to the last date they worked. If that does not fix the issue, see next step.
If it runs on Vista,go to the microsoft website and type fixit into the search.Select the fixit tool, select audio/sound issues, and run the tool.It might find the problem and correct it.If that fails, update the BIOS.If that fails,do a system recovery after you back up the data,if the speakers don't work after all of that, you might have a hardware issue.
    Good luck.
