Press and HOLD MUTE. If you do install a camera, make sure it supports reversed image output, otherwise your images will appear backwards...

SOURCE: No videp playback on Pioneer AVH-P4000DVD only getting sound !!!

Just wanted to add my 2 cents for those who might be having the issue of no video but hear audio. I was having the same problem. I had completed the bypass hack with a single throw/single pole (SPST) toggle switch. I could bypass the warning message and hit the OK button but no video. I did hear audio. I searched everywhere but solution 4 worked for me. The thing for me was that next to the black wire on the harness wasn't empty. It had a purple/white wire with some sort of filter (labeled backup camera hook to reverse gear). I tied into this wire before the filter with another wire (I chose a black wire b/c I was grounding it) and grounded it with the black wire (ground) on the harness. I now have video! Maybe the 4 pole relay hack would have worked better but I had only done the toggle switch hack. I hope this helps others and most importantly thank you Salhi.

SOURCE: my screen

It is telling you that, depending on the rear-view camera that is attached, the image MAY appear reversed. If the unit is going into this screen on it's own, go to the main menu screen where you would choose DVD, RADIO, AUX, etc... and press Rear View. It should beep (but not change). That is it.

SOURCE: no video screen

If you can touch the screen and get the menu, then after 15 seconds or so, it goes back to the 'images may appear reversed' message, here is what you need to do....
1) Touch the screen to get menu
2) Touch the "Rear View" button (lower left of screen)
3) It should beep, but not change from menu view.
IF it changes instantly to the 'images may appear reversed' screen, repeat steps 1, 2, 3.
This should fix your issue.

SOURCE: my pioneer double din screen says

Hi,

As you know, you can use this DVD AV Receiver with a rear view camera. And also it can be installed to switch automatically from the video to rear view image when the gear shift of the car is moved to Reverse position.

But it is important to use a camera which outputs mirror reversed images.
Otherwise the screen image may appear reversed. And this means that you will see the rear view reversed in the monitor. And that may cause accicent and injury.

To solve this problem, first check your rear camera whether it has the capability to output mirror reversed images.

If it is, then check the wire connections of the rear camera using the operation manual or ask a technician.

Also check the settings of camera polarity if it is set properly or not in the system menu when connecting the rear view camera.

You can download the operation manual (pdf file) by clicking here.

I hope this helps.

My avh-p6400cd is connected to a rear camera. The unit seems to work ok but when the switch is activated to show the rear camera I now only get a black screen. Can you help?

Either there is a separate fuse going directly to the camera which is blown or your video cable has come unplugged. Some in-dash units also have settings you can customize to enable you to use different inputs for different sources

I have a D3 system installed in my RV with side cameras. How do I get the rear camera and side cameras to display all the time?

Once you have your camera set up, press the map button on the left above the volume, if the navagation map comes up, press the map buttom again and you will be presented with other options that can be displayed including the view of the camera. Once you have it on that setting, every time you start your car, it will continue to show the cameras view until you change it.

Pioneer AVH-P5700 instalation

You can find a wiring diagram for your 87 monte at http://www.modifiedlife.com/1987-chevrolet-monte-carlo-car-audio-wiring-schematic/ You can refer to the installation manual for your deck at http://akamaipix.crutchfield.com/Manuals/130/130AVHP570.PDF Since you are removing a shaft style radio and installing a DIN style you will need to perform extensive modifications to your dash. The Pioneer manual provides the dimensions.
