Hi - i have a Hotpoint BFV62 Dishwasher. My electrics tripped and i discovered that the cause is the dishwasher, every time i turn on the dishwasher it trips out the electrics so it currently has no electric going to it so can't be switched on. The dishwisher was in the middle of a cycle so is full of water. I will be calling out an engineer to take a look at it but my question is, being unable to switch it on, is there a way to drain the water out of the dishwasher manually?

SOURCE: Dishwasher tripping the circuit breaker

Andy, leave the breaker off and remove the toe panel (bottom panel) from the dishwasher. Remove the cover of the junction box where the cord connection or wiring is made. Look at the wire caps and see if they are not burnt. Sometimes these connections become loose and arch, tripping the breaker. If so, cut the wires, strip a new end and reconnect. SOURCE: leaking FDW60

Had a similar problem when I removed the lower spray arm for replacement (see http://www.fixya.com/support/t234402-fdw60_dishwasher ) and didn't put the centre retaining nut back. It might be worth checking the lower arm is screwed in tightly as the retaining nut prevents water escaping.

Left side first and second light flashing

I think I've seen this one on a similar dishwasher. You have an internal leak. Because yours is built in it's not easy to check but If you can lift it out and angle the machine forward about 45 degrees - you will need some towels! ... This might be a temporary cure but I ended up sealing the cabinet by opening up the case and using a mixture of silicon sealant and duct tape.

Leaking dishwasher fdw60

Try the corrugated hose that the water is pumped out through. It may have a small hole which leaks and creates the trip. It's happened to me.
