When I set my U740 rington and press the play softkey the volume is heard loud and acceptable, but when it rings for the incomming call the volume is very fainth, as if the master volume was set to the lowest setting. I have tried anything I could think of and have talked to the VZW tech people with no fix. Any solution?
Thanx

Check a ringer volume and profile. Press a volume key to see the volume status bar at the top of the screen. Use the volume up and volume down keys to adjust the loudness of the ringer (scale 0 to 30). Tap on the text next to the ringer icon to change the profile (vibrate only, ring+vibrate).
Check if the issue is with a specific ringtone: Go to Settings > ringtones+sounds > Ringtone, and tap on a playbutton to preview the ringtone.
Switch off the ringer vibration (Settings > ringtones+sound > vibrate) temporary, to determine if your phone is affected by any motion settings i.e. Flip-to-Silence.
Make sure that call forwarding is not switched on: Tap the phone icon > ... > Settings.
If the problem persists, restart your phone by pressing and holding the power and volume down keys simultaneously until the phone vibrates. Release and the phone will restart. After this operation, you may need to re-adjust the volume and set date+time on the phone. Note that this does not remove your personal content.

You can set the length of your incoming ring to in the Call forwarding portion of the phone. Usually, it is set to 25 seconds. It can go as high as 30 seconds. To set the ringer to be longer or shorter, it goes by 5,10,15,... set of 5 increments. up to 30. I would also recommend to use a factory set ringtone, set the profile to LOUD or OUTDOORS. With vibrate option on. Some downloaded ringtones don't play as loud.
go to setting its in the menu then choose profils the then highlight general and press option to personlize then then chang the ringtone and the increase volume
If your phone carries a removable memory card, sd or other, then u can create any ringtone at any volume.
There is a free application on the web, using your pc, called Traktor. Primarily it is a DJ tool or mixer but comes in quiet handy for upping the volume on ringtones.
All you do is put the track you want into the mixer, press play and record after setting the required volume, pressing stop and save at the end of the track and hey presto !!
Then just copy the track you saved over to your sd card and put it back in your phone.
After this, select the adjusted track, copy to phone and apply as ringtone.
And there you go.!
I called Verizon Wireless and the said, if you go to “My Sounds” or “My Ringtones” select the song that you want to hear and press the play button. While the ringtone is playing press the button on the side of the phone to raise the volume…you should be able to hear the ringtone.
Hope this helps!
