New home theater system will play all of my DVDs except those from Disney ie BOLT. The manual does not list where to find the password to reset the parental controls so I can't even try that.
I don't know what BOLT is, as I fixed my last DVD player 6 years ago at Sony. I think the Disney Format is Newer than your DVD player can read.
I remember Sony had a $5000.00 when new DVD player that was the first generation of DVD's. We would get them in for repair and the guy would say "My Radio Shack $99.00 plays all my DVD's but this $5K FIVE YEAR OLD unit won't play them....
There was NO fix for the problem. The New DVD's were beyond the capability of the 5 year old unit.
SO.. Is the Disney DVD a Blue Ray Disk? Or a new format that your older DVD can't read?

I know there was a way to reset the Sony DVD to Factory Spec and it would remove the password during the reset process.
I don't know the reset process for your unit. A Circuit City or Best Buy salesmen might know the procedure. It will be something like holding down 2 keys while turning on the power.
Sorry I couldn't be of any better help.

These are standard DVDs. I had this problem with another player and was able to fix it by resetting the parental controls. The problem is that I can't find the password that was programmed into the unit.
