If an oil Aga is not getting hot, there is probably a restriction in the base. Oil Agas should therefore be cleaned out by a service engineer every six months, although will occasionally require an extra clean. If if turns out that this is not the problem it is possible that there is a fault with the thermostat, although it is usually a restriction that causes the problem.

Call me silly but whot is the high setting on my oil aga 1 or 6

The highest/hottest setting on an oil aga is usually 6, however if it's not hot enough it's possibly because it has a restriction in the base. If this is the case it will need to be cleaned out, which would normally be done by a service engineer every six months.

Temperature too low

If it's an oil Aga, it's likely that there is a restriction in the base. This should be cleaned out by your service engineer every six months, although occasionally it may need to be done more frequently.

Oil fired Aga is making wheezing sound

Sounds like air passing where it should not be, try checking that all the components of the burner are seated properly for example the cap on the centre resivour and the other thing is that the wicks are high and causing a taller flame

turn off oil and remove the feed pipe from the burner. mix a solution of caustic soda in a bucket and leave to soak over night then you will be able to rod it with a stiff wire then blow it out so you are sure not blockage is left

I cannot light my oil fired aga . it has various knobs and things in a side cabinet but i m not sure which iones to turn to get the oil flowing .

its the small rocker with a hole in it that some people tie a bit of string to so it can be pulled down that get the oil going the others are flow controls.
you may also have a fir check valve that needs reseting that will be in your fuel line

Stihl 55 blower runs 5min. and quits /cool 5 min. and runs aga

running the right fuel mixture for the unit if not it could have to much oil & fouling out the plug or not enough oil & getting to hot & melting the piston ring & piston the only other thing is the carb adustments
