Hi Misty,
I would reset or zero out all the colour/ contrast settings first.
You can access all these via the menu on the remote.
If the reds still seem a bit weak, you can purchase new lamps on the internet. Depending on how old the TV is, a new LED flat screen might be the go. The picture difference from rear projection to LED panel is significant.
I would strongly suggest you do not replace the lamp yourself, there are dangerous voltages inside the TV cabinet.
Also, if one lamp is weak there is a good chance the others will fail soon. If it has done more than 5000 hours, time for a new TV.

SOURCE: Red color halo/shadowing

can you post a pic of your screen to show the shadowing, as red usually isnt affected with coolant contamination it may be a convergence issue. A pic would help me be better able to help diagnose the problem.

After lamp replacement, why is picture still green?

it seems like the green was not defective before you replaced the green. remove the red =no change in the screen color, that could be bad. put back red, then remove blue=screen color changed, blue is good, hope you got the idea.

5 year old RCA 50 inch projection tv. Picture went off.

If you are using component cables make sure they are all connected properly( pushed all the way in and in the correct input). I have seen the red cable come loose several times and cause no red color in the picture. When you change the lamp it is easy to pull on one of those cables and cause it to come loose.

Magnavox 50" DLP Tv power light comes on but then i hear a buzzing noise and then two red lights come on the tv. at no point does the picture turn on during this time. Can you please give me a possible...

Your bulb is burned out. I have had the same problem. It seems this television has an overheating problem--and short bulb life. I have had our 50 Magnavox dlp for two years and just put in the second bulb before Christmas. You can buy the bulb from a dealer on ebay for $99 and install it yourself. I is not in the housing so you have to carefully take out 4 screws and replace the bulb without touching the face of the bulb. To buy the one from Magnavox with the housing is much more expensive. I think the first time my husband replaced the bulb it took about 45 minutes--this time it took about 20.

Display with a red tone

If the redness fades away after it warms up, then it is the bulbs.
Eventually they won't even start up and you may cause damage to your inverter board.
Most screens use 4 bulbs, 2 on top and 2 on the bottom edge.
They can be changed , but it is a bit of work, plus he bulbs average 15 dollars each to buy, so sometimes finding a replacement screen that is good is easier to do.
I have some screens, but I would need to know your model number of the monitor and of the screen.

Bulb light projects red

Hi there

I guarantee you 100% that this not a bulb problem but rather a Mainboard failure.

This can unfortunately only be resolved by having it repaired or replaced.

And it is expensive incase you were wondering.

Philips 60 rear projection hdtv looks 3D

If your red convergence controls will not remove the red in all four directions, you have a faulty convergence IC. You will need to replace both. They cost around ten dollars each. Let me know if you need anything further.
