SOUNDS LIKE IT WIRED FOR 220VOLTS AND YOU HAVE IT PLUGGED INTO 110VOLTS. IF THE MOTOR SAYS 110/220 THEN FOLLOW THE DIAGRAM FOR LOW OR HIGH VOLTAGE. MAKE SURE CORD IS ADEQUATE SIZE. HOPE THIS HELPS.

Why would my 1 hp pump only maintain 45 psi running 1 garden hose?

Without knowing all your variables with well it is hard to say. Bladder tank needs to have 30 psi with no water pressure. It is possible that the screen down the well is restricted and you are only getting that much water. Or you may have clogged impeller in pump.

3 Gal, Craftsman Air Compressor. Builds pressure to about 20 psi, no further. While it was running, it bogged down and sounded different. I felt around the entire compressor for any leak, but only found...

It sounds to me like the motor is shot, Bogging down at 20psi makes me suspect the brushes are gone. No good contact on the brushes or even just a bad connection of the power cord will cause it to heat up and lose power under load. Check for worn or lose power connection first, then see if the motor brushes are replaceable. The brushes would be under a screw type cap on the motor with a spring holding the actual brush in contact. You will have more than one so give it good look over.

Pressure in the tank only builds to 30 psi

Bad check valve. But I would check the regulator, by turning it down to about 10 PSI and running it and see if it builds again, if that works then it is the check valve. But from what you are saying I would replace the check valve anyways.

Need Manual for Husky Model 41214 Air Compressor

You can get the manual for model 41214 from my dropbox area:

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/54567653/husky_aircompressor_model_41214.pdf

BTW, if you find this manual helpful consider installing dropbox using this link (full disclosure -- I do get about 0.2 GB freespace from dropbox if you install using this link):

HUSKY 26 Gallon Shuts Down After <75PSI!?

Possibly the pressure switch needs to be adjusted to reach a higher pressure. Trace the power cord into a box that also is piped into the pressure line from the compressor. If the pressure works itself back down again, use thread-locker fluid on the adjustment screw to hold it's setting.
