These are unfortunately common issues with the C902/C905, it is a software error, you can try downloading new software from the Sony Ericsson website, if you cannot do this you would need to send the phone to the manufacturer for a re-flash.
Try removing the battery for a few seconds then try it.
Sometimes it takes a little longer to start than normal. Leave it a few minutes and if it still does it you need to re-install the phones software.
I'm not going into detail on this as it could void your warranty. If you wish to take the risk google c902 re-flash or better still take it to a mobile phone repair shop and see what they can do for you.
software faulty would mean reflashing it with new software, you could debrand it at the same time (i.e get rid of all the network **** and have the phone how sony ericsson intended before networks put theiir stuff on it) at the same time which is what i would do.

yes, there's software updates available on the sony ericsson website. if this doesn't help, take it back to the shop you got it for and they should send it away and fix it, or they will replace it with a new c902 (:
