Question about Creda Cooktops
I have a ceramic top Creda 'solarglow' stove. Two of the burners have stopped working. Do you have an agent in Israel who can help me? If not would it be possible to send instructions for repair and for ordering the necessary parts to a technician who repairs ceramic stoves but does not how to repair Creda stoves?

SOURCE: crack on glass top stove
Welcome to Fixya
My name is Huum,
You can replace the smooth top !.
But I will tell you not to spend more than half the price of a new stove. How old is the stove and what's the model number!
Waiting your response.

When you dont replace the ceramic top that ios cracked could cause issues in your circuit board. The best thing t do is buy a new stove. The parts nad labor along is going to cost you about the same price as a new one.

My Dacor cooktop had a similar problem of continuously clicking igniters. I unplugged it a couple months ago and used a piezoelectric igniter to get it started. Then I looked in the Dacor FAQ and it said to clean the ceramic igniter posts with alcohol not water. I had to scrape some gunk off a couple of the posts with a knife before cleaning with alcohol. Now it works.'
I think the igniters use electrical conductivity to detect when they need to spark, so even slight invisible contamination on the igniter insulator can confuse the sensing system. Also they all seem to fire as a group, so all of them need to be clean because if any one of them is dirty then they will all malfunction.

Does the burner attempt to re-ignite after it goes out? If so, it's probably the therocouple. If not, it could be the burner valve. Be sure the caps and rings are correctly seated on the burners and be sure to firmly press the burner knob down to start the flame.
