Webcam not working. how to turn it on from keyboard.

The Compaq Presario CQ60-220US does not normally come with a Webcam: you can verify this by trying to locate a camera len which will facing you and situated in the middle of the top LCD frame.

In any case, you do not need a Webcam to install Skype to talk to your grand-son: if he has a webcam, you will however be able to see him on your laptop.

ps. A cheap external USB connected webcam is always an option.

restart your computer. on boot it will say press del for bios. do that. in case it enters the bios menu then keyboard is fine. probably some virus in windows. if not then your keyboard is damaged.

First try drying the keyboard with a hair dryerand leave powered off for a couple of days. what vista did u install. if it is 64 bit? most programs are not compatable with it. if it is 32 bit google the vista driver for ur laptop camera and install.

try installing the driver and verify the driver has been installed properlly

If the problem is intermittent then the problem could just be foreign objects like crumbs and hair that's trapped under the keys.

Turn the laptop off and stand it on it's side with the lid open. Get a soft, dry paintbrush and brush the keys, gently tap the keyboard in various places with the back of the paintbrush to help dislodge anything that's trapped.

Once your satisfied all the keys are clear turn the laptop on and see if it has made any difference.

If it has not then you may need to replace the keyboard.

whash it with Alkohol and after 20 minuts dry it
and after 3 hours install it and test.
