I can't get past the 'open tap'/'close tap prompts on my Impressa

My Impressa E35 will not continue past the open/close tap prompts.  I'm not able to get to the 'rinse unit' or 'select product' choice.  I have shut it off and still the same.  I suspect that the unit is not filling with water as there is no water coming from the tap when opened.

I had this problem with my Ena 3. The difference was that water was actually passing through the nozzle, but when I turned the dial back to the coffee symbol it would just tell me to open the tap again.

The solution was simple thanks to bergend's post, although I'd never have thought of it independently. I emptied the water tank and filled it back up with luke warm water instead of the cold water I had been using. After the first "system filling" round, the machine continued with the setup program fine.

So, to others with this problem: don't use too cold water in the tank for the first setup, even though the manual tells you to. Luke warm works great.

You could try using luke warm water in the tank, it contains less oxygen and can help pushing the air out of the system faster. Try open tap a few times, if no result, try waiting one hour or so, and then try again. If the problem still appears, you need to send it in for service. It then could be a small leakage from the dispenser valve, or also the signal from the flowmeter.

Hi - just to thank bergend and mm321. I was going through the "new machine" setup, started with cold water from the fridge, and then got stuck in the "open tap, close tap, repeat :-(" loop. Apparently cold water does have something to do with this. I had tried it a few times, then waited about 20 minutes - I had to cycle it a couple more times (persistence pays!), and then it went into "filling, heating, etc". Working great now! Thanks again!

My Jura Capresso E 8 is stuck in open tap filling system. I open tap it says filling system, it says close tap, when I close the tap it goes back into open tap. Float valve looks fine, water is moving

Open the tap with frother spout off. This happened to mine and I took the frother tip off and opened tap with tip off. Water filled and I closed tap...Machine returned "Ready". I heated water in microwave for three minutes- placed frother tip in hot water and all kinds of gunk came out. Lesson learned- Do a thorough cleaning of frother by immersing it in very hot water at least once monthly- even if you don't use it

Filter change

this was absolutely the problem with my Jura Capressa E-8 machine. I followed instructions after changing the filter. I opened tap-machine stated that it was filling system- I closed tap when instruction. The open tap remained on because no water was filling system. I took the frother tip off and opened tap. Water filled system (container under frother). I closed tap without the frother tip. Machine Ready.... (I heated water in microwave for three minutes) I placed the frother tip in there and used a wooden skewer to ensure frother was clear of debris... Worked like a charm!

Display tap on Jura Impressa E75 say close tap, where is tap please

The tap is the dial on the left turn it, then it will turn the tap off. If it is repeating this then it may need to be decalcified.

I keep getting open tap and when I open tap, its says close tap. I have unplugged it and it still continues the loop.

I have had this happen when trying to change filters and go through the rinse procedure. For me the problem was that the little hole on the frothing wand was plugged. Once I cleared the little chuck of dried milk everything started working again.

When turned on it will prompt "Open Tap" "Close Tab"

There are two possible causes. One is easy the other is hard. So try the easy one first. Remove the grinds tray completely, and place you hand in the cavity that it normally takes up. moving you hand slowly in, feel towards the top. you will find a little flap, past that flap there is the tamper and coffee filter at a slight angle. This may be blocked, so clean with a cloth.
If that does not solve the problem (and 90% of the time it does) then you may have a small spec of dust that is stuck in the water system, this needs to be flushed and cleaned. The best place to do that is with a Jura approved center. Unless you are technically minded. Your local Jura chaps sound like they need a k!$k up their behind

Open tap - filling system - close tap

Try using warm water in the watertank, important that the water is not too hot, it can cause leakage in the o-rings in the fluidsytem.
Repeat the procedure a few times, if nothing helps, turn off the machine and wait 1 hour and try again.

If you can`t get around this message, then the flowmeter needs to be changed.

Jura Impressa E fails to dispense, then gives "open tap" message

I had the same problem, when I called their very helpful customer service, I was given these directions.
Take out the tray.
Inside the machine you can now see a flap hanging from the top.
Reach behind the flap, and you should feel a round object/filter. It has a little dimple sticking out in the middle.
Wipe the filter with a paper towel.
Put the machine back together, and voila you got your coffee brewing again.

I have a loud tapping noise sometimes, coming from under my dash (drivers side). It sounds as if someone is tapping with a hammer on the plastic. I have a 2002 Ols bravada. It it safe to drive?

The AC/Heater unit has electric motors the open and close all the vents and heat to cold doors. when these electric motors begin to open or close past their stop points, the motor try to continue to open and close itself properly, thus fourth its tapping all the time. to see which one it is, turn the heater control to cold and slowly to hot. most of the time, its the heater door. if not, do the same with the vent control. the problem is common withe the GM SUV's.

If you gind too fine, it will overload the pump and result in the "open tap" a few seconds into brew. Rinse and gind coarser to clear out malfunction.
