I just drop it a few times on the floor really hard a few times and then it gets hot again!!!
SOURCE: I have a Rowenta DX1700. The iron will only stay
The problem is with the iron's thermostat which controls the temperature of the iron
SOURCE: Iron spits out rusty water. The iron is a Rowenta
Fill it with a mix of 50% white vinegar and 50% water. Let it set for 30 minutes and steam it out for about 2 minutes. Unplug it and dump it. After it cools colpletely, fill it with water and steam it out. The rust is coming from your water supply, not the iron.

SOURCE: rowenta d1700 red flashes and iron shuts off
I am on my 3rd or 4th Rowenta. I recently bought the Rowenta Effective, Model DX 1700. Once again, I am having the same problem as before, it shuts off after about 30 seconds. From what I am reading, many people are having the same problem. I'm going to have to guess, this is a product defect. Do I contact the company for a refund????

I'm having the same issue. Looks like the automatic shut off kicks in quickly but I have to unplug and replug for it to work for 1 - 2 minutes and then it shuts off again!
