Can I change the grill element in my britannia oven from the front Type is SI 9T

Hi! It seems it is not the heating element! It seems to be before that. Either a short circuit delivering to much current thus causing the blow. I would check the corresponding cable all the way to the circuit and the circuit elements corresponding to the oven element. The grill and oven elements being "independent" explains why grill still works. (A short circuit seems quite possible to me!)

straight forward to do. undo the screws to the back panel of the oven.
once remove down at the bottom of the oven you will see where the heater element comes through . there are to main feed wires that are pushed on and one earth wire. pulls these off as they are just push fit.
the element its self is a flat plate with 2 self tapper screws undo these and the element will then come out of the front of the oven. you have to lift it on a slight angle so the feet of the element will come through . hope this helps

If your oven has no heat you'll need a new oven element, if your oven is cooking food too quickly/burning at the back then you'll need a new fan, if the oven is burning everything you'll need a new thermostat, if the oven isn't working at all check that the clock/timer hasn't been set for auto ie make sure it is on 'manual cooking'

Try cleaning the thermocouple first. That is the long skinny looking bulb mounted inside your oven. It tells the thermostat what to do and should be cleaned every six months. You can do it inside the oven. If that doesn't help, please contact your service center. The grill element is not usually a 'plug-in' device.

You will have to remove the back of the oven/grill and disconnect it from the back before you can withdraw it from the front.

Remember to switch off the power before removing the back.

*****************TURN OVEN OFF AT MAINS OR JUST TURN ALL ELECTRICS OFF ****************NOW.........hi the fan blade nut is anti clock undo... take fan off... you will see three screws undo... go to rear of oven remove panel..... the fan will come away in your hands... disconnect wires ... reverse action needed to put back together....

There is a fault on you oven please ring Britannia for a service call on 01253471111 option 3. They can also supply a new oven seal

my larger oven on my britannia range has stopped working would it be the themostat and how much would this cost and can i fit it myself? the grill is working and so is the small oven can anyone help please. ben.
