My cd player is doing the same thing, except it doesn't switch to the rdio automatically, it just keeps flashing the error 2 message, it also on occasion reads error 1 as well, it seems to vary. at first it stopped playing burnt cd's now it doesn't even play store bought ones. I tried a cleaning disc but it won't even play that. any one have any ideas on how to fix it?

If the number lights are out and the CD player is also dead it sounds like you lost power to the player. Check all your fuses as the radio and CD player may have separate fuses. Also check any visible wires to see if there is a possible disconnect.
if it was my guess I would check the connection make sure all are connecting. I also worked on a older van that had day time running lights and its activated by a sensor that reads the light when it stops working the interior lights wouldnt come on same as radio so hope this might help.
I had the same problem. disconnect the battery cables. then reconnect them. this will reset the cd player and it should relaese all your cd player problems.
this happened twice to me and the above worked fine both times.
i have the same exact problem with mine. what i did was manually pull open the cd deck, stop the disk carousel from spninning by holding it still, then push the deck closed. the cd deck will no longer work, but at least it stops spinning. the auxiliary works fine and so does the radio.
