Samsung DLP TV has lot picture. Makes a Humming sound

When turning on the tv, there is a humming sound and no picture. The TV turns itself off and on 3 times and then turns off and give a 3 blinking light code with the power button. This code indicates the Lamp is bad. The Samsung Tech Rep said the humming sound could be comming from the Color Wheele, Lamp Fan, or Ballast,
Do you know how to change out the color wheele? Lamp Fan?, Ballast?, I already have changed out a Lamp just 6 months ago and did not have this humming sound; but the Lamp does have a cracked lense.

That sounds most like the color wheel,
to change that you need to have some skill in electronics, I would recommend to take it to a shop

This DLP tv have a colors wheel.The tv colors wheel,it dead.Have loud humming sound,motor noises and pictures flashes black&white within a picture.The colors wheel is dead and is spinning off of it axis and hitting of it sides motor walls.Tv must require a replacement of a colors wheel.Hire a tv tech. to do the job.The tv colors wheel is hard to replace.The tv colors wheel sit behind many manchanical parts,must take out even before u even can replacement the colors wheel itself.

Started making a humming or vibrating sound, and the color and resolution went bad at the same time. Now when I attempt to turn it on, I get the same vibration sound and nothing else.

This tv have a colors wheel,it dead.Require changing.Humming or vibrating sound,Flashes pictures black&white.The colors wheel is dead and it not spinning in it axis motor correctly anymore.Hire a tv Tech. to change the colors wheel,it very hard to change the colors wheel.Because u have to take out many machanical parts,even before u can get to the colors wheel itself.

Flickering screen, loud buzzing sound, self boot down.

Samsung HL-P6163W Dlp TV has a loud humming sound coming from the rear. It still has a good picture and I can turn it on and off. Very annoying

If you get a chance. Please post more details. Specially about the sound you hear in the back of tv is it like a humming or buzzing?

That humming sound is a sign that your color wheel is becoming or already is defective. If you don't replace it you might even lose picture in the future since it's part of the light engine system

Hi, you have one of two problems, either the color wheel is going or one of the cooling fans are going, the color wheels are a very common problem in samsung dlp`s, sorry I can`t nail it to a specific part but I`d bet it`s the color wheel as they are notorious for failing in samsungs, video-tek
