Some application software are not working.

My laptop's Windows XP Pro is having a problem with getting some application software working like Microsoft Office 2007, Windows Live Messenger and other Window Live Apps, Yahoo Messenger (their latest version), Adobe Reader 9, and others. The prompt message always says "This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem". I actually did that but still, those application software did not work. What may I do?

What is the procedure to install a 32-bit softwares in to my laptop(windows 7,home premium,64-bit) ?

Most programs designed for the 32-bit version of Windows will work on the 64-bit version of Windows. Notable exceptions are many antivirus programs.
Device drivers designed for 32-bit versions of Windows won't work on computers running a 64-bit version of Windows. If you're trying to install a printer or other device that only has 32-bit drivers available, it won't work correctly on a 64-bit version of Windows.

Windows 7 64bit does run programs that will run on windows 7 32bit, see here

How Windows 7 / Vista 64 Support 32 bit Applications

BUT not ALL 32bit programs will run on Windows 7!!! There are many programs that will run on Windows XP and before that will not run on Windows 7. IF you had Windows 7 Pro version (or upgrade) there is a program you can download from Microsoft that will simulate an XP environment to allow programs to run called "XP MODE".
Try to install the 32bit software first. If installation not succeed, it would be better if you first look into a newer version of the program you want to run.You have to consider that a newer version of your program might not be that much more expensive than upgrading to pro, and with the newer version, usually comes newer features.

Hope this help and if helpful RATE please.

2. If this does not work, stop the Windows 'Themes' service. Then try the software again.

How instile MS xp for notebook CP

If you have Vsta already loaded on your laptop and want to get rid of it, in favor of XP Pro, you must do a few things.
1 - determine if there are any files you need to keep, like documents (Word, etc.) or spreadsheets (Excel XLS, etc.) and like that.
2 - use a DVD-R or RW and write all the critical documents to the DVD so that you don't lose them in this process. Do a simple Copy from Windows Explorer.
3 - once all has been saved, the easiest way to accomplish what you want, is to boot the laptop using a legal Microsoft XP Pro CD or DVD, then follow the instructions to creating a bootable version of XP Pro on the lapop.
4 - you will need to decide if you want to have a dual-boot system or only an XP Pro system.
5 - if you want dual boot, follow the instructions; if XP Pro only, then follow those instructions. They should all reside on the XP Pro installation disk.

But remember that XP Pro is an older OS than Vista, so your installation media will only be able to get you so far. I would recommend following the instructions to creating an XP Pro bootable laptop only, and that means to then format the entire C drive, and then use the install media to create an XP Pro C Drive.

6 - go from there to an XP Pro laptop.
7 - as soon as the system is finished, and stable, rather than starting to install all the applications you want, like Office or other applcations, go to Microsoft's update site and update your XP Pro laptop to the newest versions of those things which will protect your system from outside problems. Update the protection applications from Microsoft first. Let the Update Site recommend, and choose from that list.

If you're going to install an anti-virus, like Norton AV, then start by installing the newest version of Norton AV or 360 or Internet Protection, etc. Then, go to the Symantec/Norton site, and update all those applications, too, especially the latest virus definitions or signatures.

Do it that way, to ensure your system is built slowly and with the most safety possible.

Be careful, and deliberate, and make sure you do not rush through this process, as it is extremely important to do it right, right from the start.

Good luck!
