AT&T Model 854 4 line phone, turn off unused line lights

I have a AT&T Model 854, 4 line phone. I'm only using one line and it is annoying to have the 3 remaining lines all lite up. How can I turn off the lights on the unused lines?

Unfortunately, I must us a cat 5 cable and to get the right pin out on the RJ12 plugs, I have to use 3 of the four pairs to get the red and green wires on the correct center pins.

It's a matter of cabling.

Make sure that only the line you wish to use is connected.

If all of the lines are cabled with two to four line cable, then reduce the cabling to a single red/black combination on the one line.

I have a 854 AT&T 4 LINE PHONE SYSTEM IT WORKED GREAT UNTIL I changed providers i switched fro Verizon to Comcast now when I pick up or answer a call the lights appear only on that phone the other...

If the Comcast people changed the equipment in the phone room they probably ran direct lines to each phone or put filters in the lines. The reason you're not seeing the lines light up is the phones are not wired correctly now. The cable box that all of your lines are coming from must have a 1 to multiple line adaptor for each line. The adaptor feeds all of the phones. Communication for the intercom and the line in use lights goes down the phone lines so ther has to be a direct connection between all of the phones. If there are filters in the lines they must be put between the cable box and the line splitter. You can get the line splitters at Radio Shack (Model 279-435 for 1 to 3 adaptor).

I have an AT&T 4 line model 854 that is not working properly. It connects to other phone conversations when you pick it up? Help

that is a problem in your phone line most likely covered by your phone company. nothing to do with your phones. just call you phone provider and they will resolve the issue for you.

I have the AT&T Model 854 4-line phone. When the phone is plugged in the phone starts toning and won't stop.

Thats because its looking for the intercom number to be assigned. as soon as you assign one in programming it will stop.

Phone connection for Lucent 854

You can get a splitter for it which will then divide that one phone jack into 3 out or 4 out which ever you need. the only problem that you might run into is how close the phones might be to each other. Otherwise there isn't much other ways around it with only one phone jack.
