My hatachi 43" projector tv is in 3d!!!

Check and replace damaged component/s at its back-light inverter board, or replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Viewing it in "Mosaic" or "Magazine" will make surf easy. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts.

you need to be connected to a 3d source when you try and switch and it must be playing 3d media before the projector would even try and im sure you know you need to be connected via hdmi for this to work, so grab a 3d dvd player and a 3d capable hdmi cable and a 3d dvd and then try it--Good Luck.

same basic thing happened on my 50 in Hitachi plasma...I removed the back cover and found two capacitors on my power supply swelled...and two chips on one display board burned.Hatachi doesnt make the tv anymore and the parts were going to cost me almost what the tv did new...so...I sold it for parts on ebay...check all the boards for tell tale signs of damage...

Ordinarily my first thought would be that the lamp is needing replacement. But if it's brand new, the lamp should be OK. Can you open the lamp compartment to see if it was broken during transit, or perhaps it's not fully seated properly. If it's a broken lamp, then I would contact the dealer you purchased it from, or contact the manufacturer directly to have it replaced. Also, is the noise loud and unusual, or just the normal sound of a projector coming on? If it's very loud, it could be the fan motor. Check that the fan is blowing. If the fan is the problem, the projector will shut down to protect itself from overheating. That, too, should be covered under the waranty.

Projection TV sets are known to have two common problems. The first problem that is common to these sets is convergence failure. When this happens the TV will usually look 3D, Wavy/Distorted, etc. It may also shutdown and blink an error code.

The second common problem with Projection TV sets is dull video, halos around objects, white looking video, or red overpowers the screen. This is commonly caused by the fluid in the lens being clouded over.

I have the same tv and the same problem happened to me (Actualy twice). It turned out to be the color wheel motor. thats what the clicking noise is.

either power supply problem or lamp gone take it back

Hi,
I know exactly what the problem is. The protection door for the light is probably damaged by the heat of the lamp. The door has a little tab that indicates the cover is on. I had to fix mine by putting a screw; elongated the tab. Since then no problem... (I had the issue at least 3 or 4 times a day and I kept on re-tightening the door/cover)
