HP Officejet Pro L7580 Wireless Connection

I am trying to set up a wireless connection from my laptop to my HP Officejet Pro L7580 All in One printer. I have tried to follow instructions from the HP website, but it indicates that I must go through the printer display on the printer= Setup/Network- to turn on wireless connection. My printer does not have this as an option. How do I setup wireless connection with my HP Officejet Pro L7580 All In One Printer?

YOUR PRINTER IS NOT A WIRELESS PRINTER IT CAN BE USED USING AN ETHERNET CABLE TO THE PRINTER FROM THE ROUTER

STEPS
+++++++
SETUP>>NETWORK>>RESTORE NETWORK DEFAULTS

SETUP>>NETWORK >>WIRELESS RADIO>>ON

CONNECT THE ETHERNET CABLE FROM THE ROUTER TO THE BACK OF THE PRINTER.

SETUP>>NETWORK >>PRINT NETWORK CONFIGURATION PAGE

INSTALL THE PRINTER
SELECT WIRED CONNECTION
AND INSTALL
IT WILL PRINT.

OR IF YOU WANNA USE AS WIRELESS YOU CAN USE WPUK (WIRELESS PRINTING UPGRADE KIT)

The 7680 model is the wireless connection model from HP. You would need a Print Server to make it work. You can get one on ebay, or at staples, office depot, you get the idea. If someone told you it had that capability I would at least have the conversation and maybe they can help you get the print server.

SOURCE: I have a laptop run

For this specific issue about installing the printer to a wireless connection. You need to install the software first as a usb connection. After the successful installation of the usb connection then you can add a device and it should work.

Step one: Gather the necessary hardware and information Follow the procedure below before obtaining your wireless network:

  1. Obtain your network SSID and WEP. To simplify this process, press the Wireless button on the all-in-one, and select Restore Network Defaults . This turns wireless off and sets the all-in-one's SSID to hpsetup .
  2. Press the Wireless button to turn wireless back on. Look for hpsetup when you select your network.
  3. Make sure that wireless is enabled on the all-in-one.
  4. Make sure that the computer that will be using the all-in-one has access to the router/access point.
You will need the following to set up the product on a wireless network:
  • A wireless 802.11 network that includes a wireless access point.
  • A desktop computer or laptop with wireless networking support or a network interface card (NIC).
  • Broadband Internet access is required for some features of the HP software to function. Cable Internet or DSL are examples of Broadband Internet access. NOTE: If you connect the unit on a wireless network that has Internet access, HP recommends that you use a wireless router (access point or base station) that uses Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP).
  • The network name, or Service Set Identifier (SSID). NOTE: The SSID is obtained from the wireless router or access point using the embedded web server on the router. See the documentation provided with the access point for more information.
  • The Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) key or Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA) passphrase, if needed. CAUTION: To prevent other users from accessing your wireless network, HP strongly recommends using a password or passphrase and a unique SSID to your access point. Your access point might have been shipped with a default SSID, which can be accessed by other users using the same default SSID. For more information on how to change the SSID, see the documentation that came with your access point. NOTE: The WEP key and WPA passphrase are obtained from the wireless router or access point using the embedded web server on the router. See the documentation provided with the access point for more information. Some access points provide more than one WEP key. Use the first WEP key (index 1) when setting up the wireless network.
  • If the network is set up with an Apple AirPort base station and you are using a password instead of WEP HEX or WEP ASCII to access this network, you need to get the equivalent WEP key. See the documentation that came with the Apple AirPort base station for more information.
  • If IP address filtering is set up, verify that the unit address is listed.
  • If MAC address filtering is set up, verify that the unit address is listed. NOTE: HP cannot set up or change the SSID, WEP key or WPA passphrase. This information is required before connecting the HP All-in-One to the wireless network.
Step two: Connect to an integrated wireless WLAN 802.11 network Follow the procedure to connect the unit to the wireless infrastructure network:
  1. Insert the software CD.
  2. Click Install .
  3. Click Next on the Please Allow All HP Install Wizard Processes screen.
  4. Select Easy Install on the Choose Easy Install or Advanced Install screen.
  5. Select Through the Network on the Connection Type screen. Figure 2: Connection Type screen c01160788.jpg
  6. When it doesn’t find your device, click Next . Figure 3: Using Network Setup c01164746.jpg
  7. Plug in your device via USB (it will tell you when to disconnect later). Figure 4: Making a connection to your all-in-one c01160790.jpg
  8. Select your network from the list, and click Next . Figure 5: Wireless Network Setup c01160791.jpg
  9. Enter your WEP key (if applicable). Figure 6: Specifying your network security settings c01160792.jpg
  10. Once it has completed connecting to the network, click Next . Figure 7: Network connecting completed c01160793.jpg
  11. Disconnect the USB cable from the computer and the All-in-One . Figure 8: Disconnecting the USB cable c01160794.jpg
  12. Click Finish to complete the software installation process. Figure 9: Software installation complete c01160795.jpg

SOURCE: HP OJP L7580 and VISTA no SCANNER available

You may want to try the full install before spending more time troubleshooting. It's a 300mb download (!), but it might be worth a try.

You don't say what software you're trying to use to scan, either; you may wish to try another one. If you want to experiment, you can download a free photo editing package that won't take over all your preferences for files -- check out portableapps.com and look for GIMP.

I've got an older HP printer, a PSC 1610, and it took me something like *seven* times installing it on Vista before it worked right. It turns out there's the regular uninstall, and then there's a super uninstall, and then there's a super duper uninstall, etc -- something like seven different uninstallation procedures, which is just insane.

HP's drivers and cruddy software convinced me to never by another one. It's a shame -- the company made some laser printers 15 years ago that are still working perfectly.

SOURCE: HP printer cannot find access point and I'm not sure what to do.

You must first connect your printer to the pc using usb cable, then run installation wizard that is on the CD that came with the printer.

Wizard will guide you through the setup orcess where you will provider your routers ssid (linksys) to your printer, and your printer will use that ssid to connect to your router.

After the Wizard setup is done, it will tell you to disconnect the usb cable and only then your printer will work on wireless.

Good luck,
Milan

FIND MANUAL for 8710 hp printer

HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 is one of the most user-friendly printers. But for them to work, you need one important pice of software to work flawlessly. HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 driver. You can look up the HP site for the driver by giving two pieces of information. The first one to provide the site with is the printer model number, which we already have and know. For the second part, you must specify the OS your computer is functioning on. Once you provide the two, you'll have the driver to download and you can install it. Then you can be easily setup HP Officejet Pro 8710 Printer.

My hp officejet pro L7580 is connected to DOT4 port, there's a hp officejet pro L7580fax connected to USB002. I want officejet pro L7580 connected to USB002, NOT the L7580fax. My desktop is not...

To walk you through I'd need to know the OS you are running, but the generic answer is that you need to go into the print driver, and in the Printer Properties, under the ports tab , select the USB002 port rather than the DOT4 port and Apply the changes.

I have a HP Officejet Pro 8500 printer, Model No. A909a. Is it a wireless printer? Can I connect my laptop to the printer with an ethernet cable?

Yes to both your questions!

If your laptop has wireless you need not use the cable if you connect via wireless to the internet router, you can use printer wireless to , you just need to seup the laptop to use the facilty.

You setup the printer through "Tools" look for Network and "Wireles Setup Wizard"

Same applies with the laptop through control panel.

Can i make my printer HP Officejet Pro L7580 wireless?

The printer will work with a wireless network, but you will have to set up your router or AP to broadcast a wireless signal, then configure the printer to communicate with the access point. Please see this HP support article, and this home support page for your printer. (or choose from here.)
Then, depending on your particular operating system, read about setting up a home wireless network here by choosing your os and then searching the help & how-to page for wireless networking or setting up a wireless network. You will find step by step instructions. Also check the support site for your router or AP, as they will have instructions specific to your router.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!

OfficeJet Pro L7780 controls non-responsive

There is conflict between the Printer and Router you are using. The Router is freezing the printer connectivity to the network due to the Wireless radio ON option in the printer

There is a firmware update for your printer, Let your printer be connected thru USB and from this link, download and install the update for your printer and later try setting it up wireless, it should work.

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=mp-62339-2&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&os=2093&product=2512010&sw_lang=

If this step fails, the other step is, to Enter the printer IP Address manually in the printer Network menu from SEtup Option and later run the wireless setup wizard to connect it to the network.

No connection ref hp officejet pro 8500 a909a

How are you connecting to the printer (over the network or a direct USB connection)? If you are using a USB connection, try a new cable or plugging into a different USB port. If you use a USB hub, try a direct connection.

If you are using a network connection, check if your firewall is blocking the connection. Also check that the router (or switch) didn't dropped the network connection and didn't re-synch with the printer (or worse changed the IP address of the printer).

I hope this helps.

Trying to set up my printer through a wireless router to two computers in my home

Is this printer a Wireless Printer, or is it attached to one of the computers? If it is a wireless printer then it will show up on the network. If it is attached to a computer on the network, then make sure the computer it is on has "File and Printer Sharing" enabled. On the other computers, set up the printer as a networked printer.

Wireless connection

Typically this is done using the software disk that came with the printer. The disk will help the wireless connection coordinate with the laptop and will also install the driver.
