The dlinkap address is the netbios address to access the AP, if you happen to not have netbios enabled on your PC for the network adapter you are using to access the AP, then that address will not work.
The easiest option is probably to use the blue cable that comes with the AP and connect via ethernet to access the AP web interface rather than trying to do it via wireless, at least initially until you get the AP set up.
The default IP address for the AP is 192.168.0.50, so if you set the network adapter on your PC (ie. the one you are going to use to connect to the AP, most likely called "Local Area Connection" if you are using the blue cable) to an IP on the same subnet that isn't already used by another device on your network (for example, 192.168.0.51 - let me know if you'd like more clarification on how to perform this step) and then type into your browser: http://192.168.0.50
You will then be presented with the AP's web interface login screen, if this is the first time you are setting up one of these brand new, or freshly reset to factory defaults, then the username is (all lowercase): admin
...and the password is blank, just press enter or ok/login.
This note got me over the hump. Specifically, I manually set my tcp/ip address in the network properties of my control panel to use the address 192.168.0.51, subnet 255.255.255.0 and gateway of 192.168.0.50. Then I hooked the device directly to my computer via a networking cable. There were no other connections to the device other than power. The setup utility popped right up, and I was able to get the device to work.
Note: when you change the hard coded IP address to something you want to keep, when you press "Save the Settings", your browser will hang. You then need to go back to network properties and set your networking IP address and your gateway address to your newly entered stuff for it to continue working.

The adress is: 192.168.0.5 I've tried this adress and it worked perfectly.

so am I .. this is no gonna t work with me. the adress dlinkap is not work after I finished all connections , When I type it , an internet browser appear to me with out any think related to Access Point Dlink
The installation manual contains no useful information whatsoever in trying to get the dlink config screen up on the browser. The online info at the dlink site gives a bunch of other information, none of which works.
On top of which, I'm running a Mac and they have no instructions for it, even though it's supposed to be a supported OS.
I called them and they fobbed me off.
It's going back to the store, and I'm getting a different brand!
could not accesshttp://dlinkap at all.
After many resets and fiddling got to access it via wireless then was able to enter the setup and put the settings I wanted it to work with.
The setup in the book is useless. HUGE TIME WASTER.
