No voice during navigation

I program in a new address and navigation starts but there is no voice direction. ( It has worked fine since Christmas) Voice works in simulation mode, and the speaker works fine during cell calls,. I checked the user manual and found no reference to this problem, do you have any suggestions?

Have you tried to reset everything to Factory state? Both GPS and System? If it doesn't help then restore Sanyo map software from supplied DVD. Something must be missing or corrupted.

I had no voice situation too, but maybe not exact the same.
It still gives voice, but stopped before it read out street name.

I just reset the GPS and it became good again.

How can I start using my new Nuvi 2569 sat nav?

Step Description Step 1:
Warm Up If possible, let the GPS warm up for a few minutes once turned on. This allows the GPS to acquire its current position via satellite. Step 2:
Determine Preferences Choose day or night colors to display a suitable screen for the time of day. Step 3:
Adjust Volume Adjust the volume so the device can be heard over traffic noise. Step 4:
Enter Address Through the onscreen navigation option, enter the street address for the destination. Step 5:
Verify Route Check the listed route for accuracy, adjusting as needed. Step 6:
Follow Directions Follow the directions given by the GPS device to reach your destination. Some models, especially in-vehicle navigation, offer voice directions. Step 7:
Turn Off Once you've reached your destination, turn off the GPS device to save its battery charge. Step 8:
Store Device Store the GPS device out of sight if possible, or take it with you to prevent theft.

Garmin Nuvi 265 wt...how to get voice command to work?

Hi,
this may require two sessions but - here goes:
1- turn the unit on - select the VOICE icon on the opening screen - triple check it isn't muted and change it to 90% voice volume.
If this doesn't give you sound WHILE DRIVING - it won't give you voice unless you're moving or driving.

Then - turn the unit off - Turn it back on- - as it is starting up - and blank- place your thumb in the LOWER RIGHT CORNER of the blank Screen.

this will open this window:
SELECT - YES - it will reboot and your minor settings will be lost - like saved address and favorites - not your updated maps.

This will reset you to default NEW -
When done - sound will be as it was when new if no sound - return for repair.

NUVI 260 lethargic, navigation guidance and map take 15-20 minute

Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-ansi-language:#0400; mso-fareast-language:#0400; mso-bidi-language:#0400;} Good explanation you gave. More than most do.
Make sure you have the latest nuvi "Firmware"
then update the maps. I would start with making sure you have the latest WebUpdater on your computer before you proceed with any updates.

If a nuvi 200 is has an older version of system software glitches may occur. The device may be missing letters or have jumbled letters or displaying duplicate letters or strange symbols on the address screen. To correct this you will need to update the system software of your nuvi. You can easily do this by using Garmin’s WebUpdater program:
  1. Click the following link to download the WebUpdater program: http://www.garmin.com/products/webupdater/howtoinstall.jsp
  2. Follow the on screen prompts from the website
  3. Choose RUN/OPEN
  4. Follow the on screen prompts
After the program has been installed it should run automatically. If it does not please use the steps below.
To run WebUpdater:
  1. From the Start menu, click All Programs and find the Garmin folder
  2. Click WebUpdater
  3. Connect your nuvi to an available USB port on your computer
  4. To search for an available update, choose NEXT
  5. As the program automatically finds updates, choose NEXT to load the update. Once the update is complete, you can search for other updates such as voice languages, Bluetooth, and Traffic Receiver.
  6. Disconnect the unit to ensure it powers on.
Take your unit outdoors and keep it in a stationary position with an open sky view until it reacquires satellites.

I HAVE A TOM TOM 920 T AND WHEN WE ARE DRIVING THE VOICE GIVING DIRECTIONS BECOMES DISTORTED AND WE CANNOT HEAR THE DIRECTIONS, THIS HAPPENS WHETHER IT IS PLUGGED IN CHARGING AS WE GO ALONG OR NOT. THIS...

Try some other 'voice'. Is it still distorted? The loudspeaker might have come loose or damaged. If the new sound is fine, the original software voice is damaged and the unit should be fixed according to the warranty.

Unfortunately the device is not very user servicable. Your best bet wuold be to find a repair shop and get a quote on repair vs. new.

My Garmin Nuvi 350 sound not working

I had this problem with the 760. Solved by going to settings>language and discovering I had no choice for "voice". I pressed that selection and picked american english and my problem was solved. Garmin support said sometimes the program gets corrupted and that choice needs to be made again.
