Hi guys,
I had the same problem, leaving the notebook "dead" for about one year - now I found the solution on a spanish (latin american) site : Remove power cord & battery , open case on backside where DIMM-modules (RAM) are placed - then remove firdt module & shortcut "J1" with screwdriver or similar (just a second is enough) - snap in RAM-module again, close cover , inser battery & plug on power cord - that´s it ! The notebook is now running, maybe plugging off agan after few minutes, but if powered on again (just press power-button!) it will run like before the error occured ! Will let it run over night to see if it´s stable & keep You updated !

Hi, sorry to hear you are having problems. When this happens it usually suggests that the CPU/system board has failed. If the laptop is still under warranty I would suggest taking it back because this is something that will be covered and they should be able to fix it or replace the laptop itself. If not you may have to pay to have the system board/CPU replaced. Good luck and hope this helps. Si :)
Im afraid to say that I find it hard to see how me basically diagnosing the problem with your laptop without seeing it is being regarded as 'Not helpful'. Even though I would put money on the system board/cpu being the problem and you would have had to pay a technician before he gave you pretty much the same diagnosis. So I dont know what you were expecting when you posted the problem online for free?maybe that someone should come over and repair the laptop for you free of charge? I feel your response is ungrateful and a waste of time that obviuosly would have been better spent on a genuine persons problem.
Appreciate the thanks for trying remark, just wanted to let you know how difficult it is to diagnose a problem without the laptop in front of me. What other things had you added after it booted up and looked for the hard drive?anything significant?
Hope you find a solution soon, if anything comes to me I will let you know. Si
Hmm is very strange that it looks for an operating system :S Maybe when you strip it down next leave out the 56k modem?Maybe that is faulty? This has now become a joint head scratching exercise it would seem. I hate problem solving on laptops, so much simpler with desktop PCs :P lol

A tech wiat a Attitude ,I removed and tried another Cpu it was not that problem, but when rebuilding it before i had it completed i switched it on and it booted looking for hard drive, but sadly when i rebuilt complete it went back to the same problem.Hi sorry about the not helpful remark.I did not know i had added a remark.
I had completly striped the laptop down just to see if there was any sign of a blown chip or cap,I could not see any damage,So when rebuilding it without hard drive and battery and dvd drive i also removed the 56k modem, and keyboard i pluged in the power adapter and and pressed the power button,it started and was locking for orerating system. Then i thought that there must have been some part not seated, and with me reseating everything it would be fine. But when i totaly rebuit it the same problem came back.I am still scratching my head.
Thanks for your time mate.I guess i will strip it again today.
