There is a screen inside the inlet valve that is most likely plugged. Turn off the water and remove the cold hose from the washer inlet valve. You can see the screen just inside the valve. If the particles are a light brown color, it may be water softener resin, requiring a softener repair. Foreign matter can also include sand or other particulates in the water supply.

Machine will wash on hot only will not on cold or will not fill with cold at all

This is an indication that the solenoid on the cold water valve is bad. Or the cold water valve is plugged. If you can get to the valves, use a meter to check the solenoid OR the power to the solenoid. That will tell you if it is bad. If you dont have a meter, switch the wires from one solenoid to the other and see if it fills

Kenmore heavy duty 80 model 110. rinse cycle at cold is down to a trickle, and seems to be lessening. Takes hour plus for a full water load if mixed alright flow for warm and hot

Your cold water line is clogged, kinked or the water valve solenoid is not opening all the way. First check the hose, then the screen on the valve for clogs. If none then replace the water valve assembly.

The water fills very slowly on rinse

You probably have a cold inlet valve with restricted flow, either because the filter on the inlet valve is clogged or because the cold valve is failing......If you wash on "warm" you have both hot and cold water mixed. On rinse there is probably only cold water used....Check water flow for HOT and COLD settings and you'll probably see the difference...Good luck...Nomess

Kenmore front loader washing machine very long wash cycle

You need to replace your cold water, inlet valve.

Unplug the machine from the power source. Disconnect cold water hose. remove the top cover of the machine. You will see the cold inlet valve/solenoide where the hose fits.

Take note of where the wiring goes. You can get the part from your appliance parts outlet.

Refit, and you should be right to go.

Good Luck.

Hot water just trickles in both of my Kenmore top loader washers

Try reversing hot for cold hoses and see what happens. That will test your valves, hot water pressure, etc. As far as I know, the valve screens are right where the hoses hook up.

Cold water in the rinse cycle of the washer just trickles

Sounds like cold water solenoid is not opening all the way, its easy to replace, and is found inside the wash machine where the hose connects
