The pins( the small, shiny strips of metal that are located in the battery compartment) that connect the phone to the battery could possibly be damaged, or the phone processor can for some reason be running at full power when you make a call, thus draining the battery faster than normal. find a cell phone repair shop and have them look at the phone. otherwise, you will have to manually replace the hardware in the phone, which is not considered feasible for the average consumer.

I suggest you remove the battery and test it with another similar phone to see if it will charge, if it does, it means the battery is ok but if it did not, it means the battery is bad and need to be change.
But if the battery is good, it means the charging port is bad, all you need to do is to change your charging port because that is the next action place to check.
