exactly the same problem what should i do ??? thanks

  • Anonymous May 06, 2009

my problem is the same but the white light flashes like it's in sleeping mode, but it won't do anything. I've changed the logicboard in it which didn't help and i'm going to be installing a new LCD screen and if that works i'll let you know. I do know however that my problem was caused due to lightning frying something and that's of course not covered under my warranty so I have to try and fix it on my own so it'll be cheaper.

Mine does the same thing except it will make the little electric motor run over and over. I've found that by very slightly twisting the keyboard (power button corner to bottom left corner, and I mean like your going to fold it in half, but gently) it will them start. I'll let it boot all the way up and usually it's fine, but sometimes when I release the pressure it gets lines across the screen and locks up. Then all I can do is hold down the power button and try again. Once the thing gets good and warm there are no more problems (usually , anyway). Other times it will be working fine and just go blank and shut off, but the fan is still running. I know by having to twist it that it's a short somewhere but afraid to tear into it. I had to replace my hard drive about a year ago and this started a few months later. I did update to a bigger drive ( Hitachi?I think?)
Sometimes the only way I can get it to come on is to actually turn thr computer upside down and power it up that way. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please??? Anyone????

Plug the power adapter in. Then hold down the startup button for 15 seconds. The light should go off and then after a few seconds. restart normally. The macbooks have a safety device that will lock up the drive if it detects sudden movements to protect the drive...
Let me know if you're back up and running. KEN

Try holding down your power button until the unit turns completely off. Then try starting it back up.

First you have to check if the back light of the panel works fine . if it's okay ..
Then probably you have a problem with the T-con.
It's a small board at the back bottom side of the panel . Connected to the main board by means of LVDS cable .

No data to macbook screen

For computers with Mac OS X 10.8 or later, if you have trouble getting your display to work with the computer, access the System Preferences menu and selection the Displays option. Then, press and hold the Option key. In the bottom right corner of the Displays window, you should see a Detect Displays button. Click that button to force the Mac OS to show all the displays, including the macbook's own display.

Otherwise, try resetting the PRAM:
by holding down the Command+Option+P+R keys on your keybord when you turn it on untill you hear the startup chime.

Happy New Year!

Our MacBook doesn't do anything but stay on a white screen that just shows that apple going around in circles in the middle of the screen.

You got the rainbow spinning wheel of death, which means take out the RAM chips and re-insert. Now try. Nothing? Replace the RAM chips with RAM chips you know are working. Now try-Nothing? Install disc one of the install disc Apple gives you and go into the system utilities and repair disc permissions and also click on repair disc after that. Now try-Nothing? Replace the hard drive and re-install the OS. Now try-Nothing? Your fu.kd my friend, which means you got a logic board problem.

You posted this problem in an Apple MacBook forum, which is why nobody has gotten back to you.
From the few symptoms you describe, I would suspect you have a damaged LCD panel or damaged inverter in your laptop.

Macbook - screen white/blank after turning on

Sounds like it could be a corrupted OS; have you tried forcing it to start up with the OS disk, holding down the 'C' key? That's the first place to start...

If it won't start up like that, you probably have a hardware problem. (You can get excellent troubleshooting guidance at: http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Mac/ ) depending on your level of geekness, and assuming the warranty is expired?

Good luck
