Kent581 is correct. On my machine the metal part the bobbin case needed to be under could pivot. It had turned so that when I put it in like normal the case wasn't under anything. I simply had to turn it back and everything was good to go!

Take the bobbin case out. Then when you go to put it in, realize there are 2 ways to get it. You have found one way. The other way is first look in the the slot with a flashlight before you insert it. There is a flat piece of metal the bracket needs to be slid under as it is inserted. This acts like a spring making it tight

SOURCE: The bobbin case on my Singer Inspiration 4210

From what I gather on other sites, your thread has to be threaded under tension.... You have to make sure you hear a click when your bringing your thread down to the bottom of the "arm". Also, I thought the bobbin case was rather loosely held in its place, I adjusted this by unscrewing the black plate and moving it over just a smidge. The bobbin is supposed to have some wiggle room, but it kept popping up and making the tiny adjustment seems to have done the trick....for now...

My bobbin in my Singer sewing machine 4522 case will not click back in. It is a Singer model 4522. It had been stored and unused for a while. I oiled it up and bought new Singer clear plastic bobbins.

Did you get Class 66 bobbins? See https://www.sewingpartsonline.com/singer-4522-sewing-machine-parts.aspx?index=19 . Singer sewing machines use a variety of different bobbins.

I hope this helps.

(I have an older Singer Touch N' Sew. Those bobbins are easy to spot. Newer machines can use Class 15, Class 15J or Class 66 bobbins, https://www.singer.com/sewing-resources/complete-bobbin-guide . Some machines can only use either the plastic or metal bobbins of a particular size. Others can use either metal or plastic bobbins.)

I have a much older model of singer 9410 sewing machine. The feeder is frozen and as I was troubleshooting I took out the bobbin case and cannot get it back in!

First make sure that the bobbin case locking lever is fully back, away from the bobbin case area. This lever is on the left side and to the back of the bobbin area. The bobbin case needs to be put in so the forked end of the bobbin case slides under the feed (towards the needle and the center of the feed dogs). Next slide the front edge of the bobbin case under the position plate. Then turn the lever towards you to lock the bobbin case in place. Make sure that the bobbin case can still move slightly. If it's tight, move the lever again and reset the bobbin case.

For pictures of replacing the bobbin case, see page 39 of the manual. Singer has PDFs of most of their manuals on their support page: https://www.singer.com/support . The current support page for the 9410 is https://www.singer.com/search/support?title=9410 . The current link to the manual is https://res.cloudinary.com/singer-sewing/image/upload/fl_attachment/Singer-Website-Library/outdated_product/SINGER_7029_7033__7035_and_9410_Sewing_Machine.pdf .

I hope this helps.

Bobbin latch on Singer Touch and Sew model 626 won't seat properly. Therefore plate covering bobbin case will not slide back into place.

Have you had the bobbin case out? If so, remove it again and replace carefully.Or contact manufacturer .

Can't get the bobbin case back in on my singer hd 110. It came out on it's own. The manual is not very helpful.

If this is a vertical/metal bobbin case; raise the needle to it's highest position. This will position the shuttle to accept the bobbin case.

If the bobbin case has a lever on the back, lift it and hold it open as you place the bobbin case back into the shuttle. It should click into place.

Need a tutorial for replacing the bobbin into the vertical case on a Model 1120 Singer. The bobbin always wants to fall out before I can get the rest of it put together, and locked.

Replacing the bobbin into a vertical bobbin case on a Singer model 1120 sewing machine.

I kept messing with it, and after a few hours it finally slipped into place.

Singer model 2732

It is either inserted incorrectly or the bobbin case needs replacing. Check the bobbin case by running finger tip around the outside of case, if rough spot needs replace. There is a ltch that is spring loaded you must hold back with small bladed screwdriver while inserting case for proper placement
