If the PC is on and running and the light is oragne it means your video card is bad or the cable is loose.

Power off your PC (gonna have to hold the button down on PC until it turns off) and then turn off the monitor.

Reseat cables on both ends from Monitor and PC then power back on again and see if that helps.

If it still doesn't work you have a bad video card.

Accer asspire 5535 screen wont lite up but works with external moniter
so you had a new inverter put in, are you talking about the actual backlight? can you see anything on the screen at all? point a flashlight at the screen when it's turn on and try and look from different angles to see if you can see anything on the screen. you can also take the screen off and check the connection to the actual LCD.

You need to try this monitor on other PC to narrow down the problem, it can be the monitor, cable, PC. I f you try all the suggestions and it still does not work, then you need to open it up and see the pictures here: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
and check for shorted transistors or bad fuse.

Well, I CAN say, that usually an orange monitor light means:
  • "No Signal"
  • Either because, the computer isn't on, or the monitor just isn't receiving a video signal from the video card.
Is the video card an on-board adapter.. or is there an actual addon video card?

Reply in more detail as to how you have everything hooked up, and what exactly happens, and I'll be more than happy to help figure out what is wrong.
