Hidden files how to delete them ?

Rebecca, if you want help you really have to provide details. Nobody knows what you mean by "hidden files". Here is what "Hidden Files" are in Windows: when you enter Explore, then go go Windows \ System 32 you will get a message in the Right hand part of the screen, "These Files Are Hidden....." You can choose to expose them, or leave them hidden. If you delete any of those Hidden Files you will nuke your operating system since those are very critical system files that Windows uses. I don't know if you mean those or something else.

Write once means. Data is permanent. Just like you can't modify audio cd's or movie dvd's

if you have downloaded any form of media (audio,video or photos) check your incomplete folder and delete..delete part (keep up to 2-3 months ago) of the cookies that a laptop/pc tend to just keep and it builds up...then search for hidden folders by going to my computer/tools/folder option/view/click on show hidden files and okay..........open each hidden file and delete what you might have deleted already (be xtra xtra extra careful not to delete any microsoft windows needed files).when finished click back on the hidden button to hide folders again

Note the hidden files may be some of the players operating system files. So once you can see them you will want to make sure that they are not the operating system files before you delete them. If you do delete the operating system files this will cause the player not to work properly.

On the Windows side, you can also easily access your iPod's hidden files. First, right-click your iPod. Then, select Tools ® Folder Options. This takes you to Control Panel ® Folder Options. Select the View tab, as shown in Figure 3-17.

Under "Hidden files and folders," change "Do not show hidden files and folders" to "Show hidden files and folders." Click Apply to All Folders, and now all the invisible files on your iPod will be visible

Now open my computer. open your ipod and then open the file labled ipod control. Find the file that says "LOCK" or something like that. DELETE IT. If you do not see the file, you can run a search for it. Just make sure that you are deleteing the file lock thats in your iPod and not anywhere else on your computer!

if you r sure that u havnt deleted then check if they are hidden or not, a virus can also affect the pics so beware of the virus!!!!! to check the hidden files click folder option then ckeckmark show hidden files and folder then apply and check ur pics.

Use the Search Option, selecting all files (search hidden as well), to locate the file named Normal.dot. Once found delete or rename the file Normal.OLD. This is the template that Word uses for all documents. It not uncommon for this file to become corrupted and cause problems.

After finding this file in your computer, rename it to something else like Normal.Old or delete it completely and then retry opening word. Word should automatically recreate the Normal.dot template for you. If it works properly after renaming the template file, you can delete the old one since a new one will have already been created.

Normal.dot may be hidden so you may have to go into your Window Explorer options and change them to show hidden files and folders before doing your search

To enable viewing of hidden folders:
MY COMPUTER --> TOOLS --> FOLDER OPTIONS --> VIEW --> SHOW HIDDEN FILES AND FOLDERS)

You might not be able to see the hidden files... If this is the case you can enable XP in order to view them as follows.....

Windows XP and Windows 2003
To enable the viewing of Hidden files follow these steps:

1. Close all programs so that you are at your desktop.
2. Double-click on the My Computer icon.
3. Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
4. After the new window appears select the View tab.
5. Put a checkmark in the checkbox labeled Display the contents of system folders.
6. Under the Hidden files and folders section select the radio button labeled Show hidden files and folders.
7. Remove the checkmark from the checkbox labeled Hide file extensions for known file types.
8. Remove the checkmark from the checkbox labeled Hide protected operating system files.
9. Press the Apply button and then the OK button and shutdown My Computer.
10. Now your computer is configured to show all hidden files.

IF you open any folders --> Tools---folder options--view--show me hidden files and folders
You can do any editing now coz now u can see all hidden files and folders

you can fix the problem by having the original sansa files when you format it it deletes everything
get a friends sansa files or do this
and just because it would be a pain looking for the original files i uploaded here for people who deleted them put these files into a folder named

and put them in into 1 folder named SYSTEM--make it hidden then put it on sansa

then create a music folder make it hidden

then create photo folder with thumbnail and my album folder make my album hidden
