you can go to the acer website and download the manual for your computer, it will show you how to reset it

push and hold the power button

You need to install Windows, or Linux from a generic install disk , and then install the drivers for your system.
After installing system you will need to reinstall drivers from one of the websites below:

Acer Aspire 5315 Windows XP & Vista Drivers.

support.acer-euro.com.

Alternatively Buy an Acer Aspire Restore Disk from Acer, in that case you won't need to download drivers.

you can try uninstalling your drive and then reboot so that when you turn it back it will go thru the found new hardware wizard. if that doesn't work you will probably have to find the drivers for it from the manufactures website hope this helps
