My projection tv has a split screen top 8 inches is a picture.then 6inches of black.then 8 inches ofthe same picture.then another 6 inches of black

its either in 3d mode or picture in picture. you may have to switch the picture as the main picture before changing channel

Center bow on picture top and bottom with 1" black showing

sets have several common problems listed below.

Problem #1) Convergence

Symptoms:

Screen Looks 3D
Colors wont align
Screen may look distorted
No Audio/Video - TV makes a chirping sound.

Problem #2 CRT Fluid has clouded over. Symtoms

Dull looking video
White looking video
Halos around objects
Red/Orange looking video

Picture jumps

you might have bad caps or the vertical output integrated circuit, try to locate the vertical ic and check the surrounding areas for bad capacitors.
