Wrench lights means that it needs to be checked by a technician. If you still have warranty, refer to the point of purchase

How to change the light bulb in a maytag 8114P732-60 oven

Hi Mary. I had a bad bulb in my Maytag new from the factory. I also had a hard time getting the glass lense cover off, and didn't want to be too rough with it for fear of breaking it. But it WILL come off if you turn it hard enough. I've since seen suggestions about putting warm water on it to loosen it up. And another person wrote and said using an oil filter wrench on it worked like a charm.
Good luck

How do you remove light bulb cover?

Just twist it off. I know that is easier said than done because they can be a pain. But if you turn it hard enough it will come off. I've seen suggestions about putting warm water on it to loosen it, an another said using an oil wrench on it worked like a charm.

My oven wont turn off from the knob it keeps turning

You didn't say whether you have a gas or electric oven, or oven & stove. I'll assume you have a stove, just to cover all bases.

First, you should shut down the oven: a gas stove will have a valve on the gas line behind the stove. The valve will either have a red handle or a flat stem that usually has a hole in it. Turn either valve 1/4 turn to shut off gas, use a wrench on the flat stem. An electric stove should be shut off by flipping off the double circuit breaker for it in your electric panel. Do not unplug an electric stove when it is on; this can damage the plug &/or electrocute you.

Most likely the inside of the knob has stripped out. Look at the knob for a hole that has a setscrew in it: a small allen wrench or screwdriver will loosen the setscrew, most knobs don't have them and will pull off. Be careful to use even pressure on two sides of the knob; if you can't pull it off, use two butter knives or flat screw drivers to pry it up enough to get a grip on it.

Look at the center stem on the back of the knob, it will likely be cracked or stripped. Some stems have a D-shaped metal insert that strips out inside the plastic stem. If you have one, pull off a burner knob and compare the stems in the back, if they are the same size, put the burner knob on the shaft for the oven control, and use that knob to turn the oven control off.

If the burner knob won't fit, use your fingers or a pair of pliers (gently) to turn off the oven control shaft. If the shaft stops normally, you can turn the stove back on using either the gas valve or the circuit breaker. If you have a gas stove that doesn't have electric ignition (a clicking noise when you turn on a burner) you may need to re-light the pilots for the burners. Lift the covers off the burners to re-light the pilots.

If you have succeeded in turning off the oven, you need a new knob -- you can get one at an appliance parts store or maybe a hardware store. If the oven control did not turn off normally, I would leave the oven/stove turned off: the control itself will need to be replaced by a qualified repair person.

Trying to change Maytag Gemini from natural gas to Propane. Have orifices, but no diagram of where they are located.

take the covers off the burners and look, the jets are near the burners, small wrench to turn them out and replace with the other jets. the oven is a different story, and depending on you model may not even have jets that can be replaced, rather you adjust the one jet that's in there by turning it with a wrench (you should have gotten a book that helps with this)

Can't keep the pilot light lit.

Your safety valve is bad. You could try repositioning the thermocouple probe but bootm line is these cannot be repaired they must be replaced. The new safety orifice ain't gonna be adjusted you will have to do that.
Match the height of the old one with the new part by turning the orifice with a nice fitting wrench post your model number so I can look up just what you have. Checking oven safety valve: HERE72a2330.gifa7f3db4.jpg

I cannot remove the oven light cover in my Whirlpool gas range.

Put on a rubber 'serving' glove or dish washing glove and it will give you some traction to grip the glass to turn it

Can not remove light bulb from whirlpool oven

I had similar difficulty. This worked for me after 45 mins grief.

I got a heavy duty 1cm wide elastic band (length double was about 14-15cm). This is a common size heavy duty elastic band in the UK.

This elastic band is much too long to go around the glass bulb cover so I tied a knot in it so that i had a complete circle of rubber band tightly held around the bulb cover. Then I used a Mole wrench -a kind of large adjustable spanner - to undo the glass bulb cover. It came off easily because the rubber band gave sufficient grip to undo it. It is about 2.5 full turns anticlockwise to completely free it.

I hope this will help the next viewer of this website.

Oven burner flame is low

0000000.jpgOn top of that safety valve is a nut. Get a good fitting wrench. Turn on the oven and use that good fitting wrench on that nut. Turn it counterclockwise till the flame comes up about midways of the flame spreader. Don't get the flames too high. Midways of the spreader now. LOL

Cant remove oven light cover

Try a adjustable car oil filter wrench (cost a couple of bucks at Wal-Mart). Simply put it around the glass cover and give it a twist. Worked great for me.
