When I try to install software, it says there are windows compatibility issues. Made for earlier version of windows

Newer versions of software are usually backwards compatible but why in creation do you want 8.1 - it is a horrible OS and installing it will cause all sorts of operational and software issues. If your unit is working fine stay with what you have. Rule of thumb is that you ONLY upgrade when you absolutely have to! U have been forewarned.

U can go to manufacturer website to check out the requirements and compatibility of your Print Master Premier software.

According to the Windows 8 compatibility guide, versions v9 and earlier are not supported.

You can download content to a Philips GoGear multimedia player using Windows Media Player or MusicMatch Jukebox in Windows. Earlier versions of Windows starting with 2000/ME and XP are compatible with GoGear. If the device is not recognized by the Windows XP operating system or is receiving error messages, you may have older versions of the necessary software installed. There also may be firmware issues with the GoGear device.

Connect the Philips GoGear to another USB port on the computer. Sometimes USB ports go out, especially those in the front of the computer case. Try inserting the GoGear into another port and see if XP can now recognize the device.


Download Service Pack 1 or later for the XP operating system (see Resources). Philips GoGear can only operate on XP systems with at least Service Pack 1 installed. You may also receive an error message pertaining to the service pack when trying to insert the installation disc for the GoGear support software.


Install the latest version of Windows Media Player. Philips GoGear requires at least Windows Media Player 11. Windows Media Player 11 is available for XP .


Install the latest version of MusicMatch Jukebox (see Resources). Earlier version of this software may be causing error messages regarding missing MP3 tag information and missing tracks. Follow the download prompts, then unzip the folder and click on the "HDD_xxx.exe" installation file. The latest version of the software will be installed.


Install the latest firmware on the Philips GoGear. The actual firmware required depends on your GoGear model. Open either Philips Device Manager or Songbird, depending upon which management software you are currently using. Close all programs on the computer except for the Device Manager/Songbird. Connect the GoGear to the power supply and the computer. Click the "Repair" tab in the Device Manager and click "Repair," or click "Tools" in Songbird and select "Check for updated firmware," and the firmware will be updated on the GoGear.

The Print Shop version 20 Deluxe for PC is not compatible with Windows 7. The newer Version 23 is compatible. This is due to software compatibility issues with Windows 7.

It will not run on Win 7, even when you are using the Compatibility Mode options. Too bad you have to get the newer version 23.

Print Shop version 21 Deluxe is not compatible with Windows 7. You have to use a newer version 23 which is compatible. This is due to software compatibility with Windows 7.

Computer program errors are discussable. First, the programs require compatibility to the entire computer system to take effects either as downloads or installation from internet of disk drives. The answer is : Not exactly. They do not provide a fully functional Driver that is compatible with Windows 7. HP suggests to use the Basic Printer Driver with W7. If you have Wireless facilities in the Printer it will not work with those Drives anyway. So if you are planing to purchase one, unfortunately it is not ready for Windows 7.

Windows Updates will install the necessary Drivers but is not the Fully Functional Driver/Software.
The drivers will be included with the Software CD as they have said earlier but it is not.
One friend of mine have tried it to run the software in a Compatibility mode to a Previous Operating System. That has worked for him. You can also try but I Do Not Recommend Though.

• First when you connect the printer it will not be recognized. You have to Run the setup.
• You can then go to Control Panel and then System Compatibility.
• Then use Find and Fix Problems -> Programs -> Next -> Select hpoddt01.exe -> Next
• Under "Troubleshoot Programs", Select "The program worked in earlier versions of Windows but will not run or install now" and Click on Next
• Select a Previous Windows Version and Proceed. Then the Printer will work.

However if you haven't purchased yet, I do not recommend the product.

go to windows update and check for software update's,seam's you have a compatability issue with the earlier software, i know xp has a compatability program that lets you run programs in a earlier os formate to make the earlier programs run in the later OS'S Hope this works Steve
