What is the maxium upgrades that I can give my Thinkpad T20 Series 2647, from speed to memory and possible going from a Pentium 3 to a 4?

You can't upgrade the processor: it's already at almost maximum and you can't change models - different socket. The maximum RAM you can install in it is 512 MB of PC100 SODIMM-SDRAM so the speed difference will be negligible.

Can i upgrade the processor

you didn't mention your current processor speed. The maximum processor speed that you can install is 2.2mhz and still depending on the type of motherboard you currently have. If what you currently have right now is just a little less than that of the highest possible CPU that your board can accommodate, it's not advisable then for a CPU upgrade. Better upgrade also your board and/or just upgrade your memory for an additional speed.

How do I upgrade the processor to faster speed in acer asprie 4720z it has an intel dual core but the speed is only 1.73 Ghz and I would like at least 2.4 GHZ can this be done or do I need to purchase a...

Hello,

PLease try to refer to your motherboard processor maximum support and see the processor you can upgrade to your laptop without buying new motherbaord and other accessories such as memory. Remember if you plan to upgrade device in your laptop please see the hardware maximum support that your laptop hardware can support otherwise if you buy processor and other device beyond the maximum limit support of your current laptop hardware it would not work as you plan.
Thanks
