If you mean it has not been used for a long time, remove any covers you are able and use some Innox spray (DO not use WD40 or CRC!). Turn it over by hand back and forth - leave it overnite - turn it over .... it should free up

I am having problems with the lower thread getting tangled. I have removed the bobbin and shuttle and cleaned, but it is making a weird rattling noise and still is not sewing properly. I don't see a w

Firstly, check if the bobbin is placed in correctly. It actually goes in with the thread counter clockwise.
Next, you might be simply using the wrong kind of thread. The cheap dollerama stuff is bound to get clogged. That's why good thread which has undergone factory quality control costs what it does and in terms of ease of sewing, is well worth its price.

Machine will not move material under pressure foot. Thread get all bound up like tension my be too tight!

is stitch length setting correct, should be 2.5 for straight stitch. are feed dogs lowered for some reason? raise pressure foot and manually turn flywheel towards you while watching feed dogs. do they move up backwards and down? sounds like they are not feeding fabric through. check manual for how to raise and lower feeddogs if they appear to be down. sometimes its a button on base front or back of freearm. hope this helps out a little

Singer 1425 is bound up. The knob on the right side of the machine will not turn. Do you have a suggestion?

This can be a bit tricky, these are the steps I start with to free up a bound machine
1. lift pressere foot up
2. remove needle plate
3. remove bobbin, case, hook on side load bobbins
4. Try to turn hand wheel
5. If still stuck, remove top cover of machine and use a high quality oil and lube all metal to metal moving parts.
6. remove bottom of machine and oil.
7 look for something broken like gears or machine out of time

Wait a day or two for oil to get in a do it job, if still stuck contact a repair shop.

My New Home sewing machine is frozen.

Remove the throat/needle plate and see if thread has wrapped around the mechanics...clean the area to remove lint accumulation.

If the machine is still bound-up, it will need to go in for repairs.

I have a White 1999 "jeans machine" sewing machine. It suddenly froze up while sewing. I dismantled what I could and cleaned everything I could see. Appears it is somehow "bound up" between the handwheel...

How long has it been since the machine was lubricated? If it has been a while, take all the covers off and oil ( with a good sewing machine oil) not 3 in 1. Pay special attention at the ends of each shaft, most particularly, the top shaft. If this doesn't work, the machine will need professional help.

I have a Necchi heavy duty sewing machine, I was hemming a denim skirt, the machine got bound up and now the threaded needle will not pick up the bobbin thread and bring it up. What could be the cause of...

I have the same machine. Try replacing the needle, it could be slightly bent and not be in position to pick up the loop from underneath. A good de-fluff may help too.
