Afer you change the filter and have run the water for about 1 minute you then hold down the light & lock button together and this should turn the change filter light off.

I know on my KitchenAid (different model), you need to reset the light by pressing the Water Filter button 5 times. The light should then change from red to green.

When you hold down lock auto light it turns off all the indicator lights completely. To sufficiently reset the filter to "green" hold down the lock water buttons at the same time for about 15 secs

On a Frigidaire Superba I had changed the filter and the reset button was stuck on red. So, I held the Lock Button on the front door down while pushing the change filter light down and it 'CLICKED' and went from 'Change' to 'Good'.

SOURCE: Please tell me how to

Hello,

The filter status display will help you know when to change your
water filter. When the display reads 10%, order a new filter. It is
recommended that you replace the filter when the display reads 10% OR when water flow to your water dispenser or ice maker decreases.

The filter should be replaced at least every 6 months depending on your water quality and usage.

Step 2
Press the eject button to release the filter from the base grille.

Step 3
Pull the filter straight out.

Step 4

Turn the cap counterclockwise to remove it from the filter. IMPORTANT: Do not discard the cap. It is part of your refrigerator. Keep the cap to use with the replacement filter.

Step 5
Align the ridge on the cap with the arrow on the new filter and
turn the cap until it snaps into place.

Step 6
Remove the protective covers from the O-rings. Be sure the O-rings are still in place after the covers are removed.

Step 7
Push the filter into the base grille. The eject button will pop back out when the filter is fully engaged.

Step 8
Flush the water system. Use a sturdy cup or glass. Depress and hold the
water dispenser lever for 5 seconds, then release it for 5 seconds. Repeat this process until water begins to flow. Once water begins to flow, continue depressing and releasing the dispenser lever. Hold down for 5 seconds and then release for 5 seconds. Do this on/off process for about 2 minutes. This will flush air from the filter and water dispensing system.

Take care......

Check to be sure your water source is on. Low pressure may make the filter sensor think there is a plugged filter.

After i change the water filter de button of water still red

The water filter status light, located at the top of the refrigerator

compartment, will help you know when to change your water

filter cartridge.

Style 1 - Standard status light (on some models)

When the water filter status light changes from green to yellow,

this tells you that it is almost time to change the water filter

cartridge (90% of the filter life has been used). It is recommended

that you replace the base grille water filter cartridge when the

water filter indicator light changes to red OR water flow to your

water dispenser or ice maker decreases noticeably. See

"Changing theWater Filter Cartridge" later in this section.

After changing the water filter cartridge, reset the water filter

status light by pressing the light switch 5 times within
10 seconds. The water filter status light will change from red to
green when the system is reset.

How often should you have to change the water filter?

Only replace the filter when water flow diminishes or ice cubes get visibly smaller , not when red light comes on .
