Our display is black and when I tried to see if the oven would still work when I press the start button it gives four beeps, the first a little longer and the last three beeps are consecutive. The light comes on, but thats about it, please help?
Whirlpool built in electric convection oven display went black. When working in the kitchen (the oven was off) I heard four beeps and looked to see that the display panel was black. Lights will come on but nothing works. Checked the breaker, turned it off and left it for about three minutes, but nothing works.

I had a very similar problem (I was observing the error & fault code "E6 F2", but not always. I did always have the beeps.) on a Whirlpool RBD305PDS14 double oven built-in. I spent time today (Oct. 21) and traced the problem down to the keypad flexible cable that connects the keypad to the oven control panel.
[ALWAYS WORK WITH POWER OFF!!!]
I cleaned the flexible cable contacts that seat into the board mounted female connector on the control panel board using a Q tip and isoproply alcohol. This did the trick.
(Elsewhere in this forum, there is information on how to remove the oven control panel and gain access to the control assembly. I posted this information - keywords in subject: Whirlpool RBD305PDS14.)
First, consult your owner's manual for trouble shooting. Next, turn off the circuit breaker that controls the oven for 5 or 10 minutes to reset. If you do not have any success, your clock (and/or membrane panel) will probably need replacement.

First, disconnect the oven from the power supply by unplugging it or turning off the circuit breaker that powers it.
I believe to reset the Sauter oven SFE950XI after a power cut when you see 3 flashing LEDs (Auto grill light, cooking time light, + light) you will use the following steps below:
Wait for at least 15 minutes to allow the oven to cool down, and to ensure that any electronic components have completely discharged.
Reconnect the oven to the power supply and turn it on.
Immediately press and hold the "-" (minus) button until you hear a beep.
Release the "-" button and then quickly press the "+" (plus) button.
Use the "-" button to select the hours, and then press the "+" button to confirm your selection.
Use the "-" button to select the minutes, and then press the "+" button to confirm your selection.
The display should now show "d:00" (with the "d" standing for duration), which means the oven has been successfully reset.
If this process does not work, it may be necessary to refer to the user manual or contact a professional technician for further assistance.
Let me know if it works for you thank you.

I had the same problem with a Wolf L-Series double wall oven (Model DO30) and called for service (under extended warranty contract). The tech told me that the F1 error is a latch problem (you know the one that grabs and locks the door during self-clean cycles). He cleared the error using a series of "secret" button presses on the control panel and the problem cleared. Now, when it happens (which isn't very frequently), I do the same thing he did ... press "0" and "Temperature" for the oven causing the problem and hold them for about 5 seconds. The oven will ding and the display will show some diagnostics, including the error event. Press "Cook Time" and "Stop Time" while in this diagnostic mode to clear the error register, then press "Off". I've also tried to keep the area across the top of the oven opening clean (with a little degreaser), especially around the latch, and I've sprayed a bit of WD-40 into the latch periodically for lubrication and cleaning.
wow, that is so weird...i was just getting ready to write the exact same thing. this last time mine beeped, i just kept letting it beep for several minutes. if kept on. i then went in and pressed all the buttons except for cancel and nothing happened. then i pressed the oven light button. the beeping stopped. not sure if it's coincidence or if that was what i was supposed to press. i will keep messing with the buttons and let you know if i figure it out. i will dread if it beeps all night long.
