if this problem apperared then how much time spent you by use your cd/dvd rw i give you one suggest if you have cd writer+dvd rom then buy a dvd writer it can works or if you have already a dvd writer then check your region settings for check region settings go to my computer properties and after open properties. Go to Hardware then go to device manager and then go to properties of your drive then select the nation where you live then try it can work i think
You can only copy files to a blank disk by using programs like NERO or by using a re-writeable disk like DVD-RW which you can format and use it like a hard drive. You need also burner not an ordinary DVD or CD player.
First of all you should have the recording tab ON. Have you tried burning using Nero instead of dragging and dropping? This may solve the problem.
However, if you prefer to drag and drop, try setting the write speed to a slower setting, even if the dvd burner has faster write capabilities.
1. I do not think it is a hardware issue.
2. You can try replacing the IDE cable, but if you can read the contents of the disk it does not suggest a communication issue between the drive and mobo.
3. I do not think that the burning software is to blame, when you drag and drop you are actually using a windows based burning software that is installed with the operating system.
4. set up your files to burn through nero, let the software do the work.
I had the same issue with my dvd burner, although slightly different error messages, solved it by using nero instead.
Check that the writable DVDs you are using are compatible (+/-) with your Sony DVD-RAM.
Go to Windows Explorer and check to see if the Sony drive is visible. It may not be connected or the Jumper switch may be set incorrectly.
Check you have drivers installed, take a look in Hardware manager.
Sometimes, it's a little difficult to copy CDs and DVDs when you have more than one burning suite installed - for some reason, they 'just don't get along'. Try uninstalling any suites other than Nero.
Or it may just be that your Sony CD-RW drive is just that, and your DVD-RW drive is just that. So it wouldn't be possible to write DVDs on the CD-RW and CDs on the DVD-RW? Though I would assume Nero would detect that and use your hard-drive as temporary storage.
In Nero SmartStart, have you selected the CD or DVD tab to correspond to the project you're burning?
when i try to copy and paste file to DVD, through windows, a message appear says"windows encountered a problem when trying to copy this file." i dont know why, could someone help?
i'm upset now. :(
U can use nero, first of all you must format de DVD-RW, so that it can be be rewritable. Then use it like a normar DVD-R disk. And every time you want to rewrite the DVD only make a quickformat and put your things on the DVD.
What type of application are you using? I know that the new nero requires you to choose whether you want to write to dvd or cd before it will work. maybe your application is similar.
