Whilst attempting to use the wii fitness board it keeps telling me to 'please step off me and press A.' Each time I do it just repeats the message. Any ideas? Have only had the equipment since beginning of April.
Most likely a bad board or cable. There is a short somewhere

I had the same problem and called nintendo support. Seems that some of the rechargeable battery packs can cause this error. I was given a rechargeable battery pack free with purchase of the board at Fry's so I never even used the batteries it came with. If you are using the rechargeable battery pack try putting normal batteries in it and see if the error goes away, otherwise support said to send it in.
