Try taking batteries out, but also unplug base station. The aim is to disperse all power in the phone so that it resets itself. I would leave everything unplugged for 24 hours and then reassemble and see if the problem has gone. Its worked for me loads of times with different electrical appliances. Hope that helps.

No dial tone now

When there is no dial tone the problem could be dead batteries in your handsets, or an unplugged base, or a problem with the phone lines outdoors [which only the phone company can fix]. Check your phone first, then make sure the base is plugged in. If all is ok with your phone then call the phone company and tell them you have no dial tone. Regards, Joe

Searching In The Display Window

I unplugged the base unit and took a battery out of the handset. I then put the battery back in the handset and replugged the base unit. This corrected the problem.
